I'm curious to know how much difference there is between a $100 Amazon light bar vs the $1000 to $1500 Rigid or Baja Designs light bars.

If i recall correctly the major difference is the reflectors for each LED. Shaped differently to throw more light

It's not 10x the performance and value... that's for sure..

Cheaper lightbars MAY put out electrical noise from the LED drivers...
Cheaper lighbars MAY have a thinner/cheaper paint on them that will allow corrosion on the cheap "pot metal" to start sooner.
There are only about a 1/2 dozen LED manufacturers in the world, the 3-5W leds used in these bars are pretty generic, biggest diff is about 20% differnce in light output and the lens on the top of them for about another 20% in efficiency and designed dispersion.
Cheaper lighbars MAY have a low end acrylic that will scratch a little easier or UV fade faster.
Smaller wires used in cheaper lightbars to save copper,
Smaller/cheaper connectors, may corrode sooner from water ingress.
Smaller wires and connectors may get hot when used for long periods.

Spend $100 see 500' might last one month, might last 10 years.
Spend $1000 see 750-1000' and less glare, more focused. Might last 2 years, might mast 10 years.
Spend $2000 see 1500', might last 5 years, might last 20 years.

it doesn't give you horsepower, but if your truck make spooly boi noises then it acts as a 2x multiplier for each turbo you have.

a turbo is like 150 horses, so 2 of them make 300 but because of the wrap; it's actually 600

Another difference is IP waterproof rating. A lot of cheap led lights are not waterproof, some have no rating at all. When you go to all the trouble of installing a light, and sometimes bury it in hard to get at places, you don’t need something that will die prematurely when it gets wet. There are some good Canadian ones, I’ll try to find them.

Well my Trax-Racks is all installed. I cut down the studs holding the Trax on and just have to get a 3/8 wing nut for holding them down vs a regular nut, but this works great for now. Have to do a couple paint touch ups as I didn't wait for the paint to fully cure...

Hidden when the bed cover is closed, so I don't look like an overlander, but exposed when I open the cover so I get 2x the points.

Now to come up with some unistrut brackets to mount the high lift a little neater than it's current arrangement of bungee cords.

Bought Ray10s directly from SCS and shipped them to US address at Lewiston NY and buddy of mine brought them across. At the time it was the cheapest option

This^, we don't use them anymore. Much safer options available.

Don't think US option is going to be available for the next couple of months
My 12" relocation kit and hangers are still there :annoyed:
At least fiberglass getting delivered this week. :bananadance:

i was joking. I think its a good idea to have at least 1 on the trail for recovery purposes.
Shouldn't be going under a vehicle without some sort of jack stand anyways. Doesn't matter what kind of jack it is.

Transport trucks are still getting through. All you have to do is to find one willing to pick up this stuff for you :anonymous:
