That did come to mind but I've done projects with resins, carbon fiber, and more and the key is mixing it separately.

Would be cool to do some kind of rectangular "coffin" out of resin.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

My only concern would be manipulating my Ts body without "breaking" it....

I've never dealt with an arachnid body.

I placed it in the freezer immediately after confirming it had passed away though so it is fully intact.

Best way would be to arrange the T on some styrofoam with pins holding the legs in place. Allow it to dry out for a few weeks and then move it into whatever you are going to use as a mold to pour the resin.

Thing with that is, it seems those that put them out on Styrofoam and pin them also scoop out their guts and whatnot.

Otherwise, it'll start to rot and smell badly.

I've been through some horrendous stuff in my life, but I'm not willing to go taxidermy on a tarantula only to bring up old repressed memories :anonymous:

I'm guessing the color will start to lighten in the next molt or two. Pic below of how they look as adults:

When it chilled out in the open, I simply observed it from up close (when I snapped pics)

Only time I've opened it up is to fill the water dish, and when I fed it a tiny dubia 2-3 days ago.

Every time I got near or did anything it would just flee.

I'm sure after a few molts that personality will come out, but for the meanwhile, I'm just getting myself used to it's lightning quick bolting into its hole.

Who knows, my OBT may just be a big ol' teddy bear inside since it's just so misunderstood and judged.

I'll even let it sleep at the foot of my bed, tuck it in and everything :rofl::rofl:

That's why it's important to give the more defensive Ts a place where they can retreat ... and that's why rehousing them can be extra challenging. Got any plans for how you are going to do it?

Yep, as laid out below -

Bedroom; it's carpeted and it's sealed. The baseboards are affixed to the wall so in the off chance that it escaped me, it wouldn't have a place to hide.

A plastic cup with a hole in the center on standby, lid included.

Initial enclosure inside a big tub.

    New enclosure inside same tub.

My pair of tongs to remove webbed "home" since the substrate is pretty webbed up in itself. Place this into new enclosure. I expect it to come out and into the new enclosure; best case scenario.

Worst part that would happen is, the webbed up substrate crumbles and he bolts out the side of the enclosure. I was thinking of having maybe just a portion of the tub blocked up top, in the area where I'm not located.

I have two crayola paint brushes that are small and gentle enough to use on the sling to persuade it to move.

Will the current enclosure fit inside of the the new enclosure?

So with Lady Gaga, her enclosure wouldn't fit into the new enclosure.

I had this idea that maybe I could place it inside the new one, and persuade her to come out but nope.

With that being said, I don't have a new enclosure picked out buuuuuut...

I could use that enclosure @Pinay sent which I forgot to ask; would you like it back?
