i do quick filets. Lots of YouTube videos. No need to scale since you’re removing the skin.

that said, if we didn’t have a (small modest) weekend lake place I’m not sure I’d be doing this.

I’d be fine doing it at home. I know a few spots I could fish from very close by. And it’s Rhode Island. I can fish in the bay 2 minutes from home. A lot of people do actually. I’ve done it before but it’s still a mess. We’ll see maybe I’ll give it a whirl this year.

Had to rewind a bit to learn what thread I was in...

No worries. That's exactly what fishing is about.

I loved my kayak. It was always so peaceful in the places boat couldn't get. Much why I like backpacking. Away from the masses in nature.

Get a sharp filet knife, go down right behind the head and down it's back just nick the skin, get some pliers and peel off the skin. Then cut down behind the head to the spine, then go down the spine and pop through all the ribs (if it's over a couple pounds you probably cant just pop through them) and follow the spine all the way to the tail while you hold their mouth.
You dont have to scale or gut them this way, just rinse off the fillets real good. I like eating bass, it would be good for people that dont like fish much anyways, it doesnt have a fishy flavor and the fillets dont have bones.

That's why I wanted a little boat, i like to be away from everybody else. I'll walk a mile through briars and shit to fish alone.

Have you looked at www.APnews.com, they seem to be mostly unbiased from what I can tell. It's really hard to find a place that gives honest facts from both sides of a story and backs it up with references. Most "journalism" nowadays is opinion with "anonymous" sources so you can't believe much of it. This situation with the virus is tough because China has not given true data and lots of people have already had it and were never tested so it's difficult to know what any real numbers are especially when looking for the death rate.

And I've had boats for 30+ years and I should be putting my boat in the water today for the season. I've broken even on most of my boats and lost a little on a couple.

And this week should be interesting if the fatality numbers start to go down, the market might like that regardless of the job losses and unemployment numbers. The earnings information could be the main thing that causes more of a drop though.

Those of you putting money in the cruise industry stocks. Any concern they won’t bounce back? It’s been tempting me with potential, but I can’t see people eager to get on a ship anytime soon after this.

I’m not concerned that they won’t bounce back but I do think that’s a possibility. I haven’t put any money into them that I can’t afford to lose.

While I don't have any funds in as a day trader, following along, for now, I do have money on a planned cruise. They are simply holding my paid for cruise and playing the market as well. I will get my cruise, but not when I planned for it. I'm confident they will bounce back.

DAL is releasing Q1 earnings Wednesday, I'm guessing all the airlines will drop with the poor news. Now I see why the Oracle dropped a chunk of his shares last week so he can get back in at a much cheaper cost.

Normally I'm bullish but each week this is looking worse and worse. I'm thinking it's gonna take a few years to get back to Feb levels in the market. I hope I'm wrong and we get a giant v in the market later this year but realistically I find that hard to happen when we reach 20%+ unemployment next month.

Went on my 401k website and doubled my contributions last week, on friday the boss said they were suspending the company match. Last time I did this in 2018,when everything dropped way down, by the time vangaurd processed it everything was pretty much back to normal over inflated levels.

And the bass were on bed in north ga today, didnt catch a thing.

my company has not yet suspended 401k match and company contributions. I’m sure it’s coming anytime though. That said, still time to double down. Your investment will go farther even if they are not contributing.

this is why I’m, maybe brainwashed, a fan of my private retirement vs a pension fund. Pensions can go woopsie daisy. I’m sure 401k stuff can too but less likely to have happen, I think. A company can’t sustain retirement match, why would I have faith they can find my pension 40 years from now? Not the government, not doing a pension.

Along the lines of what was mentioned previously and removed from the thread.. I heard something about New York telling folks that they were only making arrests for violent crimes.. Why would they tell people that? Seems like a free pass for looting and other bs. Remember what happened during Katrina? I’m not a doomsayer but I did buy three or four weeks worth of groceries and I have the 9 ever present. I am involved in the stock market still. I just hope things don’t really take a shit on us.
