Damn Matt, this truck is turning out more then amazing. What wheels are ya going to get?

 

i'm thinking some KMC enduros. maybe silver but prob black. i'm just kind of bored w/ these wheels. i've had them for 5 years or so...

 

I like what you did to your leaves. What manufacturer and how exactly did you mod them for the increased lift? I got Deavers 8 packs on the way and id like them to change them to keep my PreRunner stance, without having to resort to drop down brackets.

 

the leaf packs that are on the ground are different than the other deavers i used to have on my truck. i have the standard 8 leaf J59 pack. the ones that are going on the truck are the F55 pack. they are 62" from eyelet to eyelet

the front spring hangers need to be relocated, the leaf mounts under the axle and you need longer shackles. it's alot of work to get them on the truck and then you have to run shocks mounted to a bed cage

you'll see what i'm talking about when i get more pics up of the truck finished

 

I got a pretty good idea of what you are talking about right now, and i got access to all the equipment to move the mounts and what not here on base. Im waiting for my ICON stage 2 kit with the deavers to come in, as well as TC UCAs. I have a feeling they make the icon coil overs on a order by order basis, because its gonna be about a total of a month to get them here. and the UCAs are getting powder coated at their factory right now. Just picked up my new FJ rims from the UPS warehouse about an hour ago.

Ill be putting my own build thread up in a bit. So far Ive dropped a pretty penny on my little 4 banger.

 

right on dude, thats a great set up. i started w/ Icon CO's and Camburg UCA's...

it only gets more expensive... and building a truck on an enlisted pay grade is tough haha

my disability checks from the VA are coming in handy

 

oh yeah, i know exactly what you mean. lance coolie pay isnt exactly the best money in the job market out there. but at least us military guys can get access to all the high interest, no money down loans we can apply for! i came across this forum while researching lift kits about a month ago, and read it religiously ever since then. any time i found something i thought looked good, i made sure to search TW thoroughly before i even considered typing in my credit card.

 

yup, lots of good info here and your right about all the perk when your in the military. i'm finishing up school right now using my GI Bill and when i'm done i'm planning on going back, just not sure what branch yet. i want to go to flight school or maybe return to special tactics... we shall see

every couple of months they have specials. just check the website often. on the left hand side where all the links are the specials catergory is second to last. they last time they had 15% off in September.

im an 0311, so, working partys, police calling, taking out SNCO's trash.... typical miltary stuff i guess... gearing up to go to the ghan sometime next year.

 

what front brake setup are you running Matt?
