I have a 2013 regular cab Taco and I'd like to put some "mild" black fender flares on it... or at least that's the dream. However, I know that fender flares typically have fastener holes in the fenders which my truck doesn't have.

So the question is... Are there any aftermarket fender flares that work without fastener holes in the fenders? Like perhaps a flare that bonds with automotive grade double-sided tape? I'm not looking for some monster 4x4 flares, just something mild to add a little more black to my black & white truck.

I honestly don’t think there is, other than using double-sided tap where the clips would go on an OEM set of flares. You would also need the front bumper caps too to match it all up.

Very beautiful and clean look btw!

Yea all of the flares I’m aware of for tacomas that attach through the underside are the large pocket or bushwacker style flares. Your best bet would be oem and good quality double sided tape. I feel like there aren’t any options for mild style aftermarket flares because majority of tacoma come with them from the factory. The 5 lug guys don’t get much love in the aftermarket world.

Not sure what you get can get as far as flares goes, but that's a nice looking truck

If you can source yourself the XRunner body kit and just modify the sideskirts to fit...it’ll look bad ass and clean!

Thanks for your input and compliments, guys.

TegoTaco, you are a tease :D I remember seeing that truck a few years ago and drooling over it then, now I'm drooling over it again. I do like the mild flares it has.

Remember, if you add flares to that good looking truck, all of a sudden your current wheels will look as if they're set way back in the wheel wells. If you've ever seen a vehicle with that look, you'll know why I caution you.

Yeah, I agree... hence the reason I was "dreaming" of there being a set of low-profile flairs.

Truth-be-told, my goal here is to actually add some color to my truck. The Storm Trooper look is getting a bit tired, IMHO. I saw a really cool 4-Runner yesterday that was white and black with one of the tri-color badges on the grill, and I really liked the additional color. So, I'm thinking about adding some vinyl (not quite sure how yet) to add some color... I thought that having some black flares would make any color I add "pop" a little more.

This is the badge emblem (which I ordered):

Here's some vinyl graphics I'm considering... but not sold on yet...

The obvious beauty of vinyl is that if I don't like it any more, it goes away easily ;-)

I hear you, but even the narrowest flares will add at least 1/2" on each side. That might not sound like much, but it's actually huge. I do like the colored stripes on that Double Cab though!

The stripes remind me of the 80's... best decade ever! :) I'm trying to figure-out if the vinyl stripes would look as good on my truck, however. They're obviously styled for the lines on the latest model Tacoma. I want to add color, but I don't want it to look like I was trying too hard to be different.

True, as Iron Man Ivan Stewart colors still look great on even a brand new truck! Then again, I think plain white trucks can look pretty darn nice:

Ah, thanks. I wasn't quite sure where the tri-color scheme came from as I don't follow off-road racing.

Looks like the vinyl theme might be older than the 80's? Not sure what year this truck is, but even he has flares!

    136680d1501348622-1979-1983-toyota-picku_eb86fbcd40f4842f9517e2dd371bbf91948a9eab.jpg

So don't shoot me for thinking out-loud, but what if I did "vinyl flares" or maybe some kind of textured plasti-dip to give the appearance of flares w/o the extra depth? Hmm... I suppose I should get busy with Photoshop to see how the vinyl stripes look w/o black fender arches.

Hmm... yuck. Maybe I need to call off the dogs on this flare quest. Me no-likey how this looks at all.

With all due respect to whomever owns that truck, the word "dorky" comes immediately to mind.

This may be more work than its worth, but I'm sure there are some flare guys out there that would like to lose them. Maybe you could swap bedsides and quarters like the hood guys.
