What lift? 2-3 inch is all I want to do.

Just got the winch and bumper put together and weight is 142 lbs combined. What would you guys do for a $1000 to $1500 lift.
Camper top on the back in the near future as well.

 

2" will be the least expensive, staying away from UCA'S and all that goes along with a 3" lift.

In that price range you would be hard to beat a Bilstein 6112/5160 combo with the optional Bilstein 650 springs and the HS AAL. I previously had that set up (I also have a aftermarket bumper and a Warn winch). Got just over 2” of lift at the 4/5 setting but got closer to 2.5” in the rear with leaving the factory overload in so went to the 5/6 clip and got just under 2.5” of lift in front. The ride both on and off road is great. In fact I liked it every bit as much as our Pro with the factory Fox set up. Doubt you could find a better (and reliable) set up in this price range for something that excels at both on and off road driving.

Why did you make a change from that set up?

 

It’s not my daily driver anymore so went with a BP51 set up with the HD rear leafs and the Icon Delta front control arms. The benefit with this setup is they are fully adjustable (rebound and compression) which makes a big difference when off roading as you can dial them in to match the terrain and the weight your carrying.

If I wasn’t strictly using my Taco for just an off roading camping rig I would never have gotten rid of the Bilstein setup.

 

I’d love a 3” lift that drove exactly like my stock Pro suspension does. A exact clone , just higher in the air.

 

If I didn’t sell our Pro and was to keep the Fox setup, this is what I would have done and the only thing I would recommend doing to the factory Fox suspension. Anything else then you might as well ditch the Fox setup.

That’s pretty cool , just not enough for me. When it’s rebuild time for my stock Pro stuff I’m going to put them away and put a whole new setup to get more ground clearance. I’ll just save the stock setup for the day I ever sell the truck.

 

So with this setup did you add the UCA's?
I went to the link and did not see a choice for the Bilstein 650 springs.

 

I’ll caution against the setup ive been sullied with - 3” blocks with 5160s in the rear. Without UCAs or skinny springs in the front, the uca and the coil pack contact at max downward articulation. The cv boots also contact the strut tower when drooped. I’ve noticed it skips over washboard now, riding terribly i suspect because the suspension does not have as much downward mobility as before.

In the rear, the 5160s the shop installed are only rated for a 1.5” lift, and have already begun to leak, possibly from continually running outside the middle zone.

Even with a diff drop, i did have to get the ECGS bushing.

 

how much weight did you add to the front?

 

If I remember correctly I had estimated I added around 180lbs (added weight of bumper, winch, oversized battery, ARB twin air compressor, etc.).

I'm looking for no problems anywhere so I'm thinking 2 inch in front and 1inch in back. Add the AAL when I add the topper...
Just looking to up size the tires a little and tote the bumper and winch I am ready to install.
