I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L V6, with a 6-speed manual transmission, I am trying to install a Tekonsha P3 brake controller in my Tacoma. In my Toyota Sequia, I have the controller mounted to the right side knee well, but because my Tacoma is manual, there is a parking brake in the right side knee well, where I would've liked to put it. There are other locations that could work, but I'm not so sure I like it. If anyone could send me photos or clever ideas of where to put it that would be great. I will sooner or later post pictures showing my setup. Thanks!

I found the cradle thing on etrailer.com offered for another controller but it fits the P3 perfectly. My leg never hits it.

Like the mount. Searched etrailer.com but can't find it. Any specifics?

do you have access to a 3d printer?
I found this one on thingiverse.com, and it fits in the change holder quite nicely!

I've had my brake controller sitting there for a month, not screwed in, or even hooked up to the electrical plug, and it hasn't budged ( no off roading with it in this position yet )

FYI, there is a hole to put a screw into the unit.

No access to 3d printer. Thought I saw on her where someone was selling these.

Mine is down and to the left as well, just to the right of the hood latch. I rarely use it so it lives in its little case in the passenger door pocket along with a couple of thumb screws. I haven't had any issues with my knees hitting the controller when it's in the bracket or the bracket by itself.

Man those look super clean. Mine is just stuffed into the change tray/shelf thing at the bottom right of the steering wheel.

    No I didn't.
You can put the knob wherever you like. Maybe on the center console, behind the shifter.

Has anyone used the Curt Spectrum Brake Controller? I just found it on etrailer.com. It looks more compact, although a bit more expensive.

Depending on how it can be mounted. The vertical area on the side of the center console left of the shifter is a great spot. Thats where I have mine mounted, but its a dumber time based activation one that doesnt sense braking levels and could care less as to the orientation its mounted. That spot is out of the way of knees/legs and in easy reach if you need to adjust or actuate trailer brakes manually.

I had my old controller mounted under the steering wheel but about 2 years ago I replaced it with a RedARC tow pro with the dial installed in one of the switch blanks.

I believe Redarc? has a unit that fits into your lower dash in one of the spots now showing a "plug" or "capped". I had my brake controller mounted on the lower portion of my dash and I'm always busting my knee on it getting in and out of my truck. In that location it's not easy to see or check if it's properly set. Look around, there are units that work better than what I have and can be mounted cleanly.
