No trimming required. It's a "northpole" from Amazon, I picked it up cheap and figured it wouldn't be great for long. I was right. Two of the LEDs went out after only 6 months but I wrote the company and they gave me a full refund. I am planning to scoop up a much higher quality one very soon.

Not necessary at all! We've all been there on installs. If I had to apologize for every time I've thrown a tool across the shop out of frustration, we'd be here all day :D

Glad that you are happy with it.

I also got that one a while back and returned it in less then a month because it had condensation inside of it. I just bought another one. It's gonna be delivered April 18th so hopefully it'll be good. Heard good reviews about this one

Loving my Victory 4x4 roof rack and bed rack. I would definitely recommend their product!

Hey so what are folks' opinions on the front runner racks vs victory/prinsu style? Strength, looks, ect.

I don't know about the strength but as far as the styling goes, the front runner has distinct look vs victory 4x4 and prinsu which are pretty similar IMO..

Buddy of mine has the Front Runner set up. He likes it over the Prinsu, load rating is somewhere around 600lbs (I think). But he likes all the accessories they offer.

Wanted to say great alternative you were able to come up with on your own.
And if its any consolation, prinsu topper rack fitment is not so ‘universal’ either. Someone had installed yakima tracks previously on a leer topper I bought second hand, only after did I discover anything saying that there were certain issues with the distance of the tracks, leer toppers, and prinsu mounting bracket.

How tall of a bed rack did you get? Do you have a picture with your tent closed/folded? I am wanting to get Victory4x4's bed rack but want to see how "flush" itll look with a tent on the bed rack (I know tents will vary in closed heights).

    Thanks.

Yeah, I saw a few folks with the Prinsu topper rack had to shave off 1/2" or so from the outer foot of each mount so they wouldn't interfere with the side rails. I guess some "adjustments" are to be expected when modifying our vehicles. Usually I'm ticked when I have to deal with it but in the end I feel more accomplished when I can devise and carry out a solution.

The one I bought is half size one which is 12" and my tent is measured at 14" closed.

This is a Freespirit High Country 55 on our half rack. I'll say that I like the aero benefit and looks of the half rack, but the full is way more versatile.

One big benefit to the shorter racks is security, the gap is too narrow to fit a cooler or bin through if you lock the tailgate. Just a thought

I’m going to sound pretty damn cheap/ghetto with this question so my apologies in advance lol. I’ve found a smokin deal on a prinsu cab rack that’s really hard for me to pass up but was thinking of picking up the victory 4x4 topper rack to have as much usable rack space up on top of my DCSB.
Anyone think this is a horrible idea? Or should they be compatible and work with each other ok if I decide to go through with it to save me some $$? Appreciate everyone’s time and help!

If you're not worried about them being not exactly the same final height in the end (not a hug diff though I would think) and you're not carrying 16 foot boards with a level and a rocking chair on top, you should be fine.

As long as none of your friends are instagram influencers, you can still be cool.
