I think she was stealing from her employer or something.

Side note; when we first got married, my wife and I lived in an apartment next to her and her bf at the time. She caught her apartment on fire:cool:

Damn, the more I talk about her the more I like her!

I'd say sounds like a keeper, but I prefer my place not burned down and face not beaten in with a boot

I'm a west coast birder so need some more details to take an educated guess. How big were the eggs? What's the diameter of the nest, looks small comparing to the leaves.

Also is this in a yard? If not, what habitat type? For example, riparian (along a creek), oak woodland, etc.

Lastly when you respond could you be a dear and repost the photo. I dont want to search through several pages trying to find it.

I think we figured out that it is a mourning dove nest.

I dont think so by the size, but waiting on more information from Jersey. Look at the size of the leaves compared to the eggs. Doves are a good sized bird. Yes, they dont always construct
Well-built nest, which I believe is how some came to that identification. However, that nest is pretty well built compared to 100 or so dove nests I've found over the years. Only 10-20% of them were that well-built.

If I'm off on the size and that nest is bigger than it looks, it does look good for a mourning dove.

    Say what, Crow?
You better talk to @Gritto then. He made the erroneous assumption that I was referring to.

If it is way larger than it looks, it does look good for a morning dove nest (white eggs, nest substrate and construction, height in tree/shrub).
