What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Did you ever figure out what valving came in those rear shocks?

 

No idea on the rear's, I asked them to build the rear's similar to @turbodb. It was the fronts I asked for something more aggressive, and I can definitely tell the front is more aggressive than the rear. It's def not perfect, but when I'm aired down to 15 I can smash through most ruts and bumps that I would normally need to slow down to 15-20 mph for. If I am at street pressure, it definitely feels rougher obviously. Hard to tell what I was "expecting" but I know I can go faster than before.

 

You just need to go with what you feel, but based on that video, I would up both the compression and rebound in the rear.

At the end of the day, you're working with less than 10" of travel, so you'll never be smashing whoops like that.

And I do feel like I can maybe stuff a bigger shock in there too. My gopro got water in it on vacation, but when it comes back fixed I will watch what's going on in the rear. You can also see me find the limits of the fronts too here:

The one thing I think I have been seeing in most of the videos is almost no up travel happening in the rear.

 

I was going to say you sure you'r not bottoming out the shocks? The rear doesn't look like its compressing well. Which I think is the springs more than anything as they over power your shocks rebound right now.

 

The springs have been notoriously underperforming as well. I have seen this when I am loaded up. I just don't want springs that will raise my ass end sky high either. So custom springs are def on the list, as well as airbags, especially when I start carrying a bike out back.

Today went from 1st gen to 2nd gen

Made two ten foot harnesses and added two side ally lights to the rack . Ran out of wire and pigtails for the remainder rear lights.

Shelter in place sounds like an overlander gang or something ! I guess i am sipping out. Went to Logan yesterday though to White ranch. Good times.
