the levels are designed to be interchangeable, as long as you have the same speed (and it’s long cage). XT and XTR differ by weight, and a few other details but none of them affect the function, make sure your B Screw is set for the larger rear cog and you’re good to go

    Question for all of yall.

What would you choose? Upgrade your truck with new suspension, wheels and tires or new bike? Or even just upgrading your bike over your truck. I am in this predicament right now and cannot decide what i want to do.

I get that but it was more of just a question to see what people would choose here. I myself cannot decide and would want to do both but that is not a choice.

This is a great 1st world predicament to be in right now. What do you find yourself doing more? I ride my bike way more because I just don't get the time to go drive my truck all the time. Full disclosure, I got a great bike before I got my truck to where I wanted it. I took my time with the truck and pieced together a lift/wheels/tires. You just have to judge whatever is going to make you the happiest first.

I'd go with the bike. I live in a place where there isn't much off-roading, so suspension upgrades would only be for looks. A better debate for me would be a bike vs moving to a full size truck, since I always want more towing capacity.

at this point in my life, having a highly modified truck and just getting a new bike...I'd do bike first. As I'm getting older there is less and less time to go wheeling/offroading and enjoying the truck to it's full potential and it's much easier to get a couple hours in on a bike, and it has health benefits. I also just absolutely love biking now, and am less than 3 years in the sport...whereas I've been offroading trucks since I was 15...I'm 28 now btw.

Your questions are extremely subjective, but I'll bite.

Like a lot of folks in this thread, I normally lean towards putting any extra funds towards bike related stuff rather than the truck. I'm pretty content with my truck in its current configuration so its any easy choice for me. Now if my truck was still 100% stock and my current bike/stable was in good order, I'd actually opt to put money towards the truck to get it where I wanted it. IMHO, upgrading tires and possibly wheels make a big enough performance and aesthetic difference to justify the cost. Suspension, armor, lights, etc. are all great and look really cool, but are drastic overkill for the vast majority of people.

I spend way more time in my truck than I do in the saddle. I think most folks do as well. You'll have to decide for yourself what is more important to you.

This right here. I upgraded the truck quickly after buying it (like hours from ownership quick). So I already have good suspension, tires and wheels, leather seats etc. since I am in the truck hours per week year round.

But I have already had good bikes, and firmly subscribe to N+1 more than most reasonable people. So decide if the time spent in the truck or on the bike is more important to improve.

I'm not sure why I love that Bilstein sticker so much

This logic is one of the primary drivers of a recession. Can't let the fear-mongering get to you...

What about spending that cash on a sweet MTB trip?

I grew up modifying and autocrossing cars - at some point I just lost interest and it was probably when I got into mountain biking/cycling. Modifying the truck never really interested me aside from wheels/tires and moderate suspension down the road.

That being said it depends on what bike you have now. It might be a good time to upgrade, or get a bike in another discipline.

Speaking of modifying bikes, I'm thinking about throwing a coil on the Ol' 130. The Cane Creek DB Inline seems like a good value, can be had with coil for a little over $400 with some discounts. But I also was looking at a year-old Push ElevenSix. Anyone want to weigh in on what makes the Push cost 3X as much?

I have no input besides my experience with Cane Creek always being excellent. My friend just installed a DB Inline and the build quality is excellent. Coil is gonna be sick
