20 years from now, won't matter how much of a bargain you got. :D Now is the day traders market. Definitely when you can make some but it's not a hell of a market.

I would not take that gamble. When we reopen, the first stop is my gym to close my account. They've been charging me through these months (even though their site says they aren't charging...), and they're a terrible gym anyway. If there are any publicly traded gyms, I wouldn't take that gamble. But, I could be wrong too.

I have an account with robinhood, I would not recommend it. Not that it's a bad platform, but it's not very....intuitive?

Dude, CNBC is hilarious. Front page, everyone's dead all fear nobody can work markets are cashing billionaires say TERRORRRRRRR. Then next to it is an article "Worst is behind us" and stocks are all green. The front page is like a comic show.

I broke my cardinal rule. I dumped 200 into robinhood last night even though the truck is not yet paid off. as noted above, I will probably not be sticking with robinhood though. But, I already had an account there so it was easy to at least make the start there.

Maybe it’s the people I follow and the general sense I have about it but it seems the situation isn’t as bad as predicted (at least in the US) and people are realizing that. I’m sure there will be a few huge drops in the market when big startling news comes out but nothing lower than what’s already happened. Or I could be wrong and I lose thousands. Who knows

This won't touch a bad flu season in total deaths.

We WERE the epicenter in the USA. Hospitals did not max out. NY may be very different indeed.

There was a Twitter thing called #filmyourhospitals. Apparently nobody could find a hospital that wasn't completely normal. All media hype, stocks back to normal.

It's definitely bad, and strong. But, it's not as bad as a lot of us feared - the problem was we had SARS, MERS, etc to base this off of. Which was not as contagious, and more contained, but since this was way more contagious and and outbreak, we all panicked! And I think, yes, we're seeing that...now....it's not that bad. The only problem I have with that, is that it's the end of flu season.........of course it's going to get a bit better! So, we'll see what happens come Nov/Dec. Hopefully by then there's a better treatment and maybe a cure/vaccine?

I would hold onto the stocks. Unless you can sell now and completely cover it. AFTER taxes. You're up 12% today, but in a year chances are up way more than that.

Just signed up for TD ameritrade. I'll probably transfer from Robinhood in a couple of days. I'm not day trading, this is long haul and going for the dividends.

Must we do this every week? They are still projecting 80,000 US deaths, that would be more than flu season for the last 4 decades at least, and that’s after all the shutdowns and social distancing. So it is worse, because the flu usually kills far less than that with no extra precautions taken or National shutdown. I hope it doesn’t hit 30,000 deaths. But that doesn’t validate your argument, that will be because of all the measures taken to get it under control.

^ If you don't want to click that article, it is from CNN, highlighting 80,000 flu deaths in America in 2017-2018. It is a little inconvenient for their current narrative, I am surprised they didn't take this article down.

? I agree if you are pointing out the worst flu season in the last 4 decades was 80,000 deaths, and that was without the social distancing practices and massive shutdowns. And they still project this will reach those levels WITH all we are doing to minimize it. Or is that already exactly what I said?
