Buy yourself a peanut grinder. Maybe 60 bucks for a makita. Buy some cut off wheels, get the thinner one. Safety shield and go to town. You can use that grinder to cut back your exhaust pipe and use it alot more. I never had a cover plate welded on to cover the opening. Prime and paint. I left the opening open, did not weld on a cover plate yet. That way I can cut back more if I need to. Only thing is that sand and dirt can be caught in that area. Just clean when you go offroad and your good. Or do it right the first time.

Haha I don’t mind doing it to friends car/trucks, I’d rather have someone do it on mines. Also, I don’t have or know what a peanut grinder is. I have an angle grinder.

It really isn't that bad to do t yourself. It took me an hour. And like he said, you really don't have to weld the plate back. If you look under your truck right now you can see that the area is completely exposed already anyway. All the plate does is keep debri from collecting like he said. I only tack welded my plate on. No sense in putting an entire bead

Anyone have a link to Peacock flats permit? My google skills just aren’t cutting it and I’m not finding it or the links I do find don’t work.

I thought it was just a camping permit that you could use for access on the day you reserved a site. If that’s wrong then I’ll get a permit asap too when they open back up permitting

How are you going to know which days to get a permit for?

Camping permit is for over night. Hiking permit is for day pass. I suppose you could pay for a camping site reservation but that more expensive than the $2.50 for online hiking day pass.

I’m misinformed then. I thought it was a sticker permit like K point is

Online admin fee or go to one of the offices and get for free, but still have to pay for meter parking. LOL.

Edit: also one hiking permit per vehicle. No more five vehicles on on paper pass.
