...and I most likely would have never learned a thing if it wasn't for the truck forum.

I come across a topic that I'm not familiar with and off I go to the cloud to research it.

I'm fucking around on this site, it means I actually have time to do what I want for a short time. I like learning while goofing off.

It's great that you all bounce around from topic to topic. You all are more than likely to land on something new that I'm not aware of.

I really can't thank you all enough.

 

Just don't take stock tips from this thread (or research them thoroughly before you do). I bought CIM, which led me into mREITS, and bought F, all because of this thread. I will not discuss how those ideas are currently doing.

 

Oddly enough, every time you all mention a stock, I add it to my watched stock list.

I haven't bought or sold a thing during this wild time. It's fun to watch.

I learn a lot here. Not just stock ideas, but a little bit about investor psychology. Plus it kills time in between tasks at work.

 

I mean, the time to learn is I guess now when, with a few exceptions, it's hard to lose money (so long as they hold out for like, a year....rather than try to day trade in this current mess....)

That's what the truck bed is for. Toss in a cot and some pillows. Have at it.

I'm watching some. I broke my cardinal rule and put in $200 for funsies. Few cruise lines, some REIT, and I'll be honest I did grab some FUN

Just what I buy every 2 weeks. 20% of my paycheck goes into the stock market.

 

Apparently all those folks who said you can't buy LOVE were wrong!

Pretty poor investment tho...

 

Stocks or an ETF/retirement fund? my 401k is in blackrock 2060 and my roth IRA is with betterment (mostly it's vanguard ETFs through them).

 

Had to look that up. You can buy LOVE, and you can buy it a lot cheaper now than last May.

Really thinking about FUN for long term hold with dividend

 

I was too. There might be a great opportunity here. If FUN cuts its dividend, the share price will tank. That could provide an entry point, because you know they'll bring the dividend back eventually.

 

That, and it appears it’s already on sale even at these prices

I looked up doing my name. It's still a possibility.

That's what I'm looking at with all my buys - mostly the dividends, somewhat the stock value itself. If it doesn't give a dividend then it's unlikely I'll buy it (I mean....BRK.A aside....)

 

I bought a few shares of BRK.A on this downswing.


I can't even say that with a straight face lol
