Yeah, it only works when you are already fully dialated and in poop labor. La-maz breathing totally helps.

When I was young, a bunch of friends and I were going to do a big bon fire at the beach. This wasn't your normal beach with fire rings and sand as far as the eye can see up and down the coast. This was off the cliffs of Palos verdes, near Luanda bay. This is a affluent area with multimillion dollar ocean/ cliffside/ hillside homes.
We carried all the fire wood down and a couple coolers of adult beverages. Most of the group attended a local college, their drinking skills were unmatched at the time. This group was also very big into guns and anything that went BOOM!
We set the fire and drank for hours.... around 1130- midnight the tide starts to come in on the rocks and getting close to our little section. We pack up and start the long arduous drunk walk up the trail. About half way up there was a "Y" in the trail, my buddy stops and pulls something out of his jacket pocket, sets it in the ground. He sparks his lighter and in the dim light I can just make out a long fuse. Time to make double time up the hill..... he gets it to light and takes off running. He is coming up on me and says hold up. We are about 100 yards sway from the now lit fuse when it goes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! THEN THE 40 BOOOOMING ECHOS it caused. We hauled it up the trail and we gone before cops arrived.;)
I asked him what he lit off, he said, quarter stick of dynamite".
    This is the area:anonymous:20200407_164621.jpg

Man I wish I joined this cluster forum back when I lived in ABQ. I would have been more than happy to drive down to Hobbs to hang with the likes of you brother!:cookiemonster:

When I was 14 my brother was 16, us and a few other teens took a tire and some fuel and set it on fire where the gas pipeline runs though town for heat. There was a lot of snow and we were sledding on the pipeline. There wasn’t many houses back then and where we were was down a long dirt road with two houses back at the end. One of them called the fire department. We started hearing sirens and split but there was no where to go except to one of the houses. We parked in the driveway for a little bit.

My brother was in the fire department as a volunteer and had a red light that plugged in the cigarette lighter. He plugged it in and told them he was first on the scene. My buddy, his gf, her sister, and me were crammed in the cab of his regular cab truck trying to act like they couldn’t see us leaving. As we were leaving we met a sheriff deputy coming in to check things out and stopped us and ask us what we were doing. My buddy said “his brother is in the FD and we just came to check it out”. They let us go.

So 9th grade physical science. Mr Piner. Best teacher ever. He would speed teach the first half of class then let the chicks watch Laverne and Shirley on his black and white TV and us boys would go mix chemicals that should never be mixed. (add water to acid, never acid to water...). Anyway, he introduces us to the greatest chemical compound on earth. Calcium carbide. They used it in miners head lamps back in the day. Looks like pebbles but when you add water, fizz-fizz, acetylene gas!!!! What could be better than this right? So he showed us how to make cannons out of 4 inch sewer grade PVC pipe. Tape a coffee can on the bottom, about an inch of water, drill a small hole near the bottom, drop 3 rocks in there, shove a tennis ball wrapped in newspapers and black tape in there and let it fizz for maybe 30 seconds. BOOOOOMMMMM!!!!
We were the life of the cul-de-sac every 4th of July. Even had to call 911 for my grandma once. We said ‘hey grams, were gonna go shoot a cannon’. She’s like ‘ok’. That one cooked longer than 30 seconds. It rocked. She was hyperventilating!!
