There are two tail systems in my town, which are both open. One is on private land and the other is on land owned by the town. The local club that maintains the trails is asking that only people who live within 10 miles of the trails ride them right now. Most of the other trails in the area are closed right now because of mud. I got out today and the trails closest to my house are mostly dry with only a couple of muddy spots.

There are neat dream bike builds on youtube with peeps using these cranks and AXS group parts, and I get to see a drivetrain more expensive that even my most expensive bike is as a complete. Neat, but ouch.

THAT is the answer. As long as you can travel, and you have a good bike already.

Oh, W.E. How I miss thee. Maybe this fall...

Wait, what? For real? Even dispersed camping, or just campgrounds? Shit. Was planning a quick romp next weekend...

I have a CK IL coil, the thing is awesome. Love it. Would run it on anything it fits on.
Buuuuuttt. That new Fox DHX2 is very tempting. I'm going to go coil on the Spartan soon, and those two are the top contenders. Since I need a 205x65 my options are the CK DB coil, or the DHX2.
Wondering if CK will do anything new with their shocks this year.

No, you're not dumbs. The industry is dumbs for making so many goddam standards for cranks and bottom brackets. You can go ahead and get most any cranks/spindles that fit modern bikes. You'll just have to figure out which bottom bracket will work correctly.

I literally JUST bought a new drivetrain. Was having a really hard time deciding between AXS and XTR/XT. Decided to go with Shimano. I love the HG+, which actually makes a difference in how you can shift. The AXS is really cool, but when it comes down to it, I'm more of an analog guy. Plus, I just can't stomach a $700 part that I KNOW will get ripped off at least twice in a year.
I researched the shit out of cranks, and after all that, I ended up with XT cranks...

Only cause you said it three times, it’s CC. :)

I just swapped my drive train minus cranks from X01 to XT and could not be happier. Left the X01 cranks on there cause I’m too cheap to throw out Carbon cranks but I’ll get some shorter 170mm XTs eventually I suppose. First ride was Bennett.

Yep, all "overnight lodging...including but not limited to...all camping on public or private lands" is banned in Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan counties unless you are a primary resident or essential visitor. https://moabcity.org/DocumentCenter/View/2783/SEUHD-Restrictions-Order-03172020-FINAL

Did you swap to a Shimano chain and front chainring?

Yea buddy. Stoked for you. There’s no question I’m a Shimano fanboy. Guess it’s drivetrain refresh season for all!

I’m currently teetering if I’ll go XTR/XT with my current 11speed setup, or go on up to XT 12speed. Having to buy a new cassette and a new freehub (assuming a microspline exists for my wheels) has me hesitating.

Good call on the XT cranks. I think I’ll be following @Bannerman with an absolute black oval chainring as well.

Yea... We've been real antsy here but trying to have fun with the trails we have locally. Having a hardtail helps make things more interesting, but I recently broke a spoke on that bike so it's out of commission until I can get parts.

Home Depot hooks in the ceiling, accessory cord, and a couple retired carabiners.

Use your imagination and pretend there’s a frame there...sorry about the crap lighting.
