    Hey all,
My 2019 sr5 is having trouble with Bluetooth. The entune system is cutting off and saying “call ended”, but the phone stays on the call. Super frustrating and almost caused an accident. Any ideas?

hope everyone is safe and healthy,

Did this start recently? Lot of reported issues with iPhones dropping calls with Entune head units since the IOS 13 update.

Did you update your OS about that time?

Some have reported success by removing both the phone from the head unit (in settings under Bluetooth) and the truck from the phone (go into Settings, Bluetooth, scroll down to your truck, hit the small i to the right, forget device), then repairing.

Others say nothing worked. Toyota and Apple both pointing fingers at each other last I heard. I just updated to 13.4, so far so good but haven’t been on a long call yet.

Update: Brought my truck into the Toyota dealership last Friday here in San Diego. They had it for 3 hours only to do a software update. I tested it first thing after I left and my call dropped after 1 minute....

Brought it back to the service center today and they had the truck almost all day. The tech needed to mess with it while having my phone with him (scary). Now they tell me it's apple's problem and not something they can do as they are not seeing any issues within the diagnostics of the head unit.

It's super fun buying a 2019 truck brand new, only for it not to have Bluetooth phone capabilities less than a year later. GRRR.

Oh yeah, it do be like that sometimes.

It sucks when you answer the call and then resets the whole system also dropping your call. It’s definitely not your phone. I’ve had it do this to 3 different phone. One android, 2 iPhones. Entune just sucks.

I have a 2019 Tacoma. Bought an Iphone 11- six months ago. I would drop nearly every call I got on. ( I.m in sales and I call a lot from the road). I took the Iphone 11 back for full refund , within 15 days, then bought a Samsung Galaxy 10.. I haven't dropped a call since. Iphones can be notorious for not working with Toyota for some reason, from my understanding and what I've read.

I’ve got the same issue…still happening in summer 2021. 2017 Tacoma. Just uploaded the newest software update in hopes it would be fixed. No such luck. First call was dropped and every one since in last 2 days. Tired of this garbage and dealerships acting like they don’t know what’s going on.

2021 Tacoma here. Having the same issue with another problem. Short cut for contact keeps on disappearing about 1-2times per month. A few time all contacts is lost. Only way to fix this is delete connected phone and reconnect. No issue with my 2017 Tacoma or 2017 sienna.

By the way, I went to Toyota for a 5k oil change a few days ago and told them how suck the Android auto is and they all agree that there's no update at the moment.

Might have actually FINALLY found the cure. I followed this guy’s video and it works. I subsequently joined a 25min conf call line as a test and it stayed connected the whole time. This hidden menu actually works on my 2017 too.

6/22 UPDATE: Apparently this did NOT solve the problem as I dropped a call again today.

    Hi all,

I am having the same EXACT ISSUE with my 2020 4Runner and Toyota is saying it is "the phone". Since it is new, I filed for arbitration for failing to follow through on warranty. Any interest in exploring a class action lawsuit? Clearly Toyota knows about the Entune issue and simply isn't willing to admit it. I mean, every other bluetooth device I own just works, but not the one in 45K product!

I had the same problem with my 19 tacoma and my 19 tundra. The only think I found to work is to delete all Bluetooth stuff from your phone and only connect to the truck. Works flawlessly until you link your phone to another Bluetooth device.

Man that sucks; that is what I would want to do.

Mind you first step is to have complaint in writing with response in writing. I would say its fraud and seek council based on what was listed under tech for truck and what your being told now. Hopefully they notice/ respond after reading seeking council/class action................. but chances are probably not

    frustrating :frusty:

    Hi all,

Just dredging up this post to share some findings. My 2016 Tacoma drops my iPhone Bluetooth connection after almost exactly 2 minutes of phone talk time.

Agree with some of the other folks on here --your iPhone can only have one bluetooth connection registered: your Tacoma.

No other bluetooth items can be registered on your iPhone: no airbuds, no laptop, no other device on your iPhone, nada. It doesn't even matter if those connections are active or not; it seems to confuse Entune. Both companies are hoping this just goes away, and it's doubtful that they'll fix it. Frankly, I blame Toyota; it's their job to ensure their BT phone connection actually stays connected to the world's most popular phone.

A software upgrade of the truck and my phone fixed this for me last year. Use the Entune app.

Thanks! I just brought my truck in for service, and it looks like it was already upgraded. However, I'll give the Entune a shot.

I think I found a permanent fix for this iPhone users. My Entune system was dropping every call between 1-2 minutes. I called Apple two days ago and they got me updated to 15.2 All of my calls since (some over 10 minutes) have worked flawlessly.

Mine started doing this a few months ago. I’m downloading 15.2 now.
