    Completely unnecessary.

    What was suggested a long time ago was;

Place your stock bottle jack on top of your upper control arm.

Place some folded up cardboard to create a thick padding underneath the wheel well.

Slowly jack up the stock bottle jack; this will push down the entire assembly to allow easily removal and installation of said shock.

Wait, fuck...he's not combining a suspension lift and spacer is he?

UCA wont go down any more if its already hitting the coil thanks to the spacer.

Yeah, OP needs to ditch the spacer and raise the 5100 to the 1st or 2nd notch if he wants a lift.

Will go back together like 1, 2, BBQ if thats done!

    Ah yeah I see.

If 1 person told me something...I'd keep an open mind and consider "why" the suggestion.

If 20 people are telling me the same thing, well...that's different and I may be completely wrong.

You are getting good advice, even if you are not a fan of it all (UCA ball joint is fucked, ditch spacer, etc). Just got to roll with it and not take it personally. Hope you get it in and good luck.

That looks like a ~2" spacer. That means it's about 4" of lift. That is WAY TOO BIG. And would explain why you can't get your lower shock aligned.

Ditch the spacer, replace your balljoints (torn boots), and either raise the 5100 clip 1 or 2 notches, or get some OME springs.

Agree.....if you get it to fit your suspension will be sitting on the bump stops and destroy the Axles.
But when you decide to ditch or get a shorter spacer, I unbolt the lower ball joint 4 bolts to get it to install easy.

Look at the pics, he's 2wd.

But yea he needs to ditch the spacer.

No undoing of the LBJ necessary.

Ok I am not going to dog you on the spacers (seriously though?) and only want to offer a suggestion that I have seen done in a fairly similar situation.
Other members are free to chime in and tell me this is a bad idea but I have actually seen it done.
While your shock is mounted (just like you have it in the picture) take a coil compressor and put them on the coils and crank them up a little bit.
This will compress the coils ever so much which might give you enough room to put the bottom bolt in.
Its a little tricky but like I said I have seen it done (and I lived to tell about it).
Once you get the bottom bolt in you might actually have to completely unscrew the coil compressor to get it out of the spring.

Hey at least I offered you a suggestion instead of dogging you on the spacers like most everyone else is doing.
