I noticed going about 75 when I kick from D to S it stayed in 5th. That’s pretty sweet dunno if it an OVtune thing or stock. I’ve never ever had it switch over to anything other than 4th ever. But not sure I’ve ever tried it at that speed. New 2019 5.29 tune.

The stock tip in is one of the main reasons I got OV Tune for my 19. My wife has an Avalon and previously I had an F150. The lag in the stock 19 tip in really scared me on the road because I had to time the damn thing trying to turn into traffic. The tune beta tune I'm using makes the truck respond a bit more like the avalon and ford albeit not as much power. I'm still running the beta that was released just before 19800 (19700?). The truck drives fantastic with this tune. Tip in is perfect, shifting is good. It would be great if it didn't leave 3rd so fast but that honestly doesn't bother me a bit. I just put it in S or gear lock when I need better control if I'm merging on a short on ramp or similar.

Since there doesn't seem to be a separate base and performance tune anymore how hard would it be to have an old man tip in and a performance tip in tune? Is all else the same?

I’m surprised 19 owners on the new beta are saying there trucks aren’t shifting as quickly as they would in 19800. For me the truck downshifts more and in a logical sense making it great to drive. For me it’s way faster in deciding to drop a gear than in 19800. Maybe it’s just the 5.29 tune that’s having the great result..

I sincerely hope he goes back to the 19800 tip-in for the 2.0 final. If not, the entire release may be dead in the water for many people. It's almost universally described as a dead pedal that eventually launches you to full power with an unpleasant jolt.

I have yet to see a single user say they like the latest 2019 test tip-in better than the one found in build 19800.

I love the aggressive tip-in. With larger tires it makes for good driving.

Everyone keeps saying that. However, it's still my understanding the we will not be able to just take the encrypted 2.0 Final and throw it into a paid copy of vF for tweaking. I thought Mat said on multiple occasions that the "sample files" provided with vF will not be the same as 2.0 Final, and that we cannot modify the actual 2.0 Final files. In other words, we would only be able to modify the more generic "sample files," but we don't really know how those look or function yet.

If I misunderstood what Mat said, or that fact has since changed, please let me know; because, being able to tweak 2.0 Final itself would be a complete game changer. I just don't think he plans to let us do that...

I actually really like this idea as well. It seems like most people either like the aggressive 19700 or the slightly less aggressive 19800. If we had these two options in 2.0 Final, I think that would solve the tip-in issue once and for all. I absolutely hated the stock tip-in. I could push the pedal halfway and it did almost nothing.

I really wish I could drive to your residence and let you drive my truck. I don’t know what you go through to fix these things but the throttle at first is unbelievably bad. It’s been explained by numerous as well as myself and others agree how weird it is.

I’ll go ahead and give an example of something I did today. Since we can’t go anywhere it’s now a great time to do lawn work. My property has some terrace rows and therefore hilly. I put truck in 4 hi just so I wouldn’t spin tires while driving my truck and trailer picking up brush. Going uphill the only way to not spin tires was to start at bottom of hill and get some momentum. It’s either that or lightly touch throttle and the truck never moves. Keep very very very lightly pressing throttle it never moves until it hits the spot where the truck surges upwards over 500 more rpm and then spins tires. It’s noticeably bad on highway driving also.

19800 throttle seemed as such a sweet balance between 19770 and the newest beta.

The sentence I've bolded below is the only part that gives me hope. Otherwise, most of the below quotes appear to contradict the answers found in Post#1 of this thread (Questions 7 and 13).

I would be very excited to learn that my interpretation was wrong and that we can simply tweak the actual 2.0 Final version ourselves -- if we have to -- and then share it.

I’ve noticed this as well, drops gears sooner in a good way tho. Minus the take off from a stop, this tune is perfect for me. And cruise control works very well also i’ve noticed. lots of power combined with the gears.

For those that havnt drove the newest 2019 Tune, it’s not really a normal aggressive tip in. It’s more like u step down and nothing happening slight take off feels almost normal/too weak then all of the sudden a very large surge in power and vroom you take off. It’s not linear and it’s very hard to predict based on foot position when the big vroom is coming. It’s close tho in my opinion. I have been able to smooth it out in 60% of the cases with extremely light foot pressure changes on take off but in those other 40% of the time when I’m not trying hard you can feel the surge a lot. I think if mat could just smooth out the big increase in power a bit it would work perfect. It may be exaggerated with lower gears 5.29 tune in my case but I just can’t get used to it. I absolutely love the tune in every other fashion however. I’ve got about 800 miles on the tune. 5.29 tune 33’s not much weight.

While we are on the tip in train, I'll chime in.

19800 04B04 91 tip in is great. Tip in behavior very close to stock 04B04 calibration, on my stock 2017 Pro. No added weight, no mall crawler tires or armor.

If map switching based on ECT button is still a planned option, then just put the 19800 tip-in for D mode and the 19770 tip in for ECT mode.

Just a note for folks on Windows Defender Virus Protection. I recently did a Windows Update and my previous Exclusion for the P5Flash Utility was removed by the latest Windows Defender Update. Actually it looks like Microsoft tried something to try and better integrate with 3rd Party Virus Protection Software like McAfee. I tried to flash this morning and saw that the option for "P5Flash" was grayed out.

I just clicked on "Config -> Install All Software" and when the Windows Defender dialog popped up to report the issue, I was able to allow "P5Flash.exe" again.

I've tried to reset things so I could do everything again and post some better steps here, but I'm not having a lot of luck "undoing" my fix  If I can; I will post more details later.

P.S. I know I can take actions to turn some of this stuff off, but in the current environment and everyone online more, the hackers are really pressing hard.

For all to bear in mind -- if you update to the newer flash utility, it will be installed in a different directory then previously so you'll need to update your exclusions accordingly.

I would HATE that tip in when towing! That would be hell backing up a trailer into a tight spot. Not all of us use ECT as race mode. It's a truck, not a sports car.
