No roost guard yet. And yes, our suspension is identical

 

Alright Fox gurus, need some help... during a rebuild and going through my seal kit, I have found that this kit only has half of the correct seals that I need. I have 2.5 IBP fronts, Military grade. But what I have found is I don’t have the correct seals for the reservoir and the IFP or the damping piston. It seems the sizes are correct but not the thickness of them. And the wear band is long enough for the IFP either. Maybe a 3.0 kit would work better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks great! What upper control arms are those?

 

They're an original version of the Downsouth Motorsports UCAs. I think DSM has a newer version out now. I actually need to rebuild them. The uniballs are a little sloppy in there. I just got new uniballs and bushings for them so it'll be on the quarantine list project.

 

Since this is the Fox Thread......Please rate my build.Components on the way Front and rear... Fox 2.5's w/ Resi's ( 14" 600lb spring )( purchased and tuned from Accutune ) Rear Icon RXT w/ flip kit and Super Bump stops.Extended brake lines for the rear.JBA HD UCA's and a Alpine Designs relocation kit.Already have SCS Ray 10's w/ 267/70/17 BFG KM3's.This is on a 2014 DCLB.
Will add bigger tires ( 33-34's ), skids , bumper and winch.

 

I rate it a 10 out of 10, but I am biased. I have the same shocks and leaf packs.

 

How do you like the Icon RXT's ?

 

They made a surprisingly huge difference. I had a 3 leaf add a leaf on before with the Fox shocks. The RXTs made a very big improvement.
You may have to go with an adjustable UCA to fit those tires. I went with the Icon UCAs with my lift initially and the tires were rubbing the CM. The SPCs fixed that completely.

 

How do you like those KM3s, honestly? Can you compare them to a KO2? I keep going back and forth on if I want to switch over. Some say they are smooth, others say they are rough and loud......

 

Never had KO's.The KM3's have some road noise but that doesn't bother me.Most offroading is done on the beach.....they work very well.I run the E rated ones and run them at 38psi at present time.May have to adjust after installing the lift.
I feel like the KM3's have the advantage over the KO's in that they will handle everything thrown at them offroad.The KO's wont do near aswell in the muddy mucky stuff.KO's will be a better road tire though...especially on wet pavement.

Is the bottom spring hat/collar that the spring sits on removable on fox coilovers? Or do you have to dissemble from the top to remove spring. Reason I ask is because I want to powder coat the springs a different color.

 

Yes it’s removable. You have to compress the spring enough to slide the bottom bucket up and over the retainer clips. About an inch and a half of gap between the spring and bucket will do.

 

Probably looks something like below? You probably got a good deal, because they are not as desirable than the 2.5 coilovers. We do not tune or rebuild these coilovers. Simply wont get the performance out of them that we need.

 

I have some 2.5 Adjustable coilovers and 2.0 adjustable rears. What are you guys running your adjustable clickers at? I have them all turned all the way to the left, all the way out for the softest setting right now.
The low speed doesn’t feel rough, but they don’t seem very soft either.
All of mine were custom tuned and valved. I just thought that the softer setting would be too soft, but they seem a little stiff. Maybe it’s just me?

 

I have both front and rear in the middle. 2.5" dcs in the front with no sway bar and 2" in the rear. Rides great

 

Im thinking about removing the sway bar possibly. How did it affect your low speed shock movement and high speed after you did this?
Does the Tacoma have a rear sway bar?
