So your saying the red lines don't open the hood any higher than the prop rod? I purchased the red line set back on black Friday but haven't gotten around to install them yet. I was going to install them soon but these ones that don't require drilling are looking like a better option.

I put one in mine. Found something online (maybe here) about taking all the dash apart to reach the backside of the 12v socket, but I just removed the head unit and reached down behind the dash.

Getting the socket out was the hardest part. There's a couple tabs that had to be released. I kinda bent it up pulling on it with some needle nose pliers, but I wasn't worried about it since I wasn't gonna put it back in. I had to open up the hole a little with a Dremel tool for the USB plug to fit in. Then I put some spade terminals on the other end of the wiring so I could just plug it into the OEM plug from the back of the original socket (hope that makes sense).

You were too nice, I would of said something like "thank you and good luck" from the very begging. I hate when these dealer fools try to low ball everyone, especially someone that obviously knows about the values of vehicles, a Tacoma owner! I think this is a sign to keep your Taco and don't cheat your Taco brothers with a Jeep LOL.

Go for a RAV4, cheaper than the Cherokee, almost as much room, better quality and retail value. Any Toyota dealer will also offer a much better trade-in amount for your Taco.
