You were too nice, I would of said something like "thank you and good luck" from the very begging. I hate when these dealer fools try to low ball everyone, especially someone that obviously knows about the values of vehicles, a Tacoma owner! I think this is a sign to keep your Taco and don't cheat your Taco brothers with a Jeep LOL.

Go for a RAV4, cheaper than the Cherokee, almost as much room, better quality and retail value. Any Toyota dealer will also offer a much better trade-in amount for your Taco.

yikes.. i got 29k trade for my 16 DCOR 4 months ago, but... that was pre-covid19. dealers are sweating this lockdown shit and losing money every day it continues. anyone walking into a car dealership right now better be prepared to be bent over.

You would think they would incentivize people to buy a car. Preparing blatantly bad deals isn't the smartest way to churn up some business. The manufacturers are doing their part with huge discounts and financing options.

I did that today too but in Cement. Everything that was gunmetal grey is now cement. I still need to do the steering wheel trim and the gunmetal trim inside the instrument cluster.

If you follow the instructions to the letter, the "RedLine" struts open the hood to the same level as the prob because you use the prop to hold the hood up while you select your hole location.

I expect that you could ask a helper (or rig something up) to hold the hood to the level that you want and then mark and drill the holes, but you would also need to make sure that you had room for the total compression of the struts with the hood closed.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the "RedLine" struts and they do exactly what they advertise. I just think if I had seen a "no-drill" option that opens the hood further by default; then I might have gone that way. The only issue with the no-drill struts might be how much access to the engine bay the struts block from the side. The no-drill options look a lot longer and I don't know if they would cause an access issue for me. Of course both options block access to a point and in the worst case for either strut system, you could pop off the struts and use the stock prop pretty simply.

Edit: Just watched a video on the no-drill struts, the low angle of them might actually give you better side access

    Rugged Off-road 2.25” and 1” blocks. 285/70r17 on TRD 4Runner SEMA wheels
Finally finished up the new Tacoma. 4Runner TRD SEMA wheels offer an excellent offset to match up with the fender flares. Predator steps are on, mud flaps, blacked out emblems. Lift again is 2.25" Rugged Offroad spacer, 1" block in the rear. Rides awesome. No rubbing...........but haven't driven it hard off road yet. Liking this set up!
