stund moment, locked myself out.

Years ago my dad did this once when we where up my cabin, and its 1hour and 45 mins away from home. My mom had to drive up the spare. Ever since then I keep a key in my wallet. You can have one made without the plastic that will just unlock the doors, and fits in the wallet.

 

A friend of mine with a Tacoma accidently locked the door with the engine running while backed down at the boat ramp...had to get the wife to drive up from town with a spare key. Kinda screwed up the flow of traffic at the ramp!

 

did this in my old bronco. Good thing the drivers side window mechanism was so worn out that if you punched the door the window would fall down lol. I kinda miss having a truck I can beat on and not care.

was running for a half hour befor we got back with another key

 

I locked myself out of my truck last year , my keys were inside , but not in the ignition . Only the driver's door was unlocked , but my lunchbox was in the back seat , so I opened the front door and used the switch to unlock all of the doors , closed the driver's door and soon realized I had hit " lock all doors " rather than " unlock all doors " .

I felt like a dumbass calling my wife to drive out to our jobsite with the spare keys .

 

I just don't understand you guys that leave your trucks running in the parking spots like that with doors unlocked. I understand no one is around, but it's still not a good idea.

Hmm maybe i'll have to come up with some nifty hide-a-key or lock box or something....

 

I pulled into a parking lot this week and made a phone call turning the truck off but leaving them in the ignition. I locked the doors and started walking into the store and said oh shi$$. When I got back to my truck luckily the truck did not lock because my keys were still in the ignition....

 

I think you may have something there.....

I actually agree, I leave it unlocked all the time in parking lots but never running or with the keys in it.

and i had to wait for my bro to bring the spare, lucky i caught him while he wasnt too busy cuz he usally is.

 

on thing i have seen online is...well its basically just a tiny little pull out drawer that goes in the tow hitch receiver and has a combination lock on it...ill see if i can find it.

 

here it is...a little more expensive than i thought but could come in handy!!
