I really like the road feel of my TRDORDCLB over the last 35k since new. Yeah, it is a tad soft, wallows, body roll, suspension articulation, etc. And to me, those are not really bad things. My last vehicle was a '94 K2500 Suburban 6.5 turbo diesel which rode stiff even with 235-86-16 10ply tires at 45/50psi, Bilstien HD shocks. If I want stiff and sporty, I drive my VW GTI

How I want my TRDOR suspension to upgrade to heavier springs and better valving for the weight. That means new coils, leaves, and dampers.

I owned a 2016 SR5 and now a 2020 OR. I do not notice any difference in the suspension on road or off the road, but the all-terrain tires on the OR are noticeably better in the snow than the all-season tires on the SR5. There is enough difference that I changed my driving habits. The SR5 required 4hi to get around if there was even a tiny bit of snow, but the OR I leave in 2hi most of the time. In fact, I found I have to often leave it in 2hi if I want to have fun whipping shitties because in 4wd it has too much traction.

BTW, from what I have been able to determine, the only difference in the SR5 suspension vs the OR suspension is the shock absorbers. The OR comes with Bilstein 4600 whereas the SR5 comes with (?).

Are you lifted? Original springs? Does ANYONE run 4600s, which are the non-adjustable version of the 5100s? I like the plush ride of the OR, but would like to reign in the nosedive and other issues related to the soft stock shocks, which are NOT 4600.

You could be correct about the OR shocks not being equivalent to Billstein 4600. They aren’t labeled that way but a number of people on this forum have called them 4600. For what it’s worth, here is a picture I snapped of what is on the front of my 2020 OR.

As an aside you can see how well the gas station car wash cleaned my truck after a weekend of off-roading. Not so good! My regular car wash is closed due to covid19.

I ran 5100 on stock front springs until I fitted a winch bumper. Now I have 888 springs up front. Still have 5100s on a corners.

I have an add-a-leaf in the back and everything set for about 1.5” lift over stock.

Another thing to consider is the limited has 18" wheels, sport 17", OR 16".

I experienced brake dive in my buddys OR and its pretty bad. He hates it as well, looking to upgrade suspension. He is not sure which one yet though.

Didnt read the whole thread, but it depends where you mostly drive. If you live in a rural area with bumpy/uneven roads or you offroad a lot, then definetily OR suspension.

If you take a lot of curvy highways, sport suspension is amazing. I drive a lot on this very hilly and curvy highway and i love it, it actually handles like a sports car.(Sea to sky highway) Did not really like it when i went camping and drove fast on gravel roads, gotta slow down for that on the sport suspension. Also, i carry loads quite often and the stiff suspension really helps.

All in all, i like it so far, as most of my driving is in city or highway. I do go offroad, mostly in summer time, but gotta take it slow.

    Good luck!

Limited is the nicest riding, with the SR's right there. Everything else will have stiffer suspensions and stiffer tires.

I can't argue with your perceptions, but I'm skeptical that shocks could have any effect on "brake dive". By "brake dive" I assume you mean that the front suspension displaces lower than the back suspension under hard braking conditions. That seems like a fairly static force on the front suspension unless you are slamming on the brakes suddenly or pumping them aggressively. A shock isn't going to change that displacement. You would need heavier springs instead. Maybe I just don't understand what you mean by "brake dive". I never have had any complaints about such a phenomena, especially with a stiff truck suspension.

Totally agree. But I if I want stiff and sporty I drive my wife's Alltrack with the APR tune! 35 hp+. If she let's me. LOL

Not sure if its the shocks or the springs or both. But under hard braking the nose really takes a dive and that would drive me nuts. My sport does not do that.

A lot of guys prefer the OR suspension over other trims, but its not my cup of tea. Everybody feels a bit different about these suspensions, so whatever floats your boat. :)

I like how my Pro rides over the road, much better than my old Sport.
