i actually was curious if you had to add to the switch wires? it looks like you didn't have to but just wanted to make sure. going to order the box and extension wires tomorrow.

No I did not have to add anything to them. They are more than long enough.

@Powder taco did the extended power harness have a diagram of how to run the wires? And even if it did or didn't, do you have some pictures of how you routed yours? My main concern is getting it from the engine bay?

I ran it down the firewall, following the drivers side exhaust.....tucked it behind the heat shielding. I bent the heat shielding down, ran the wires and then bent the heat shield back up. I’ll try and get some pictures up tonight when I get home from work.

@Powder taco thanks man, yeah I was looking there and my concern was the heat, when you take pictures would you mind checking the integrity of the harness? Not saying their quality is questionable just curious how the heat plays a factor on the harness.

Also @Powder taco when you wired your switch pros in did the red wire from the module connect to the "purple" wire from the ARB harness? And the black wire from the harness just goes to ground?

Ok, it’s kinda hard to see...but the integrity of the wires are still great. No issues what so ever. Heat has had no effect.

The purple goes to the power of the chosen switch of the switch pro and the black goes to ground. You can see in this picture on the third switch the purple is to the power and black wire is to my ground buss

@Powder taco thanks! It does look a little rough but I'm sure once I get in there it'll make more sense, I should be ordering my extended harness from EXE

To everyone worried about the switch (and you don't have to take my word for it), look at the replacement parts for the ARB Twin compressor. It uses a very specific relay which does NOT require more than 1.5 A to activate. You do not need a special "15 A " switch, and I doubt the switch supplied with the compressor is truly 15A rated.

I commented this in a previous thread about the compressor:

"The relay in this compressor has to be able to handle the 60A current that the twin compressors use at full draw, which is enough to melt any normal switch. To turn on (or close) the relay a very low current (usually 5A or less) would be needed to allow the full current to flow through. I found that the TWIN uses part Pro Quip P1512XP as the relay. I'm emailed the manufacturer and they, Pro Quip, told me that the relay used in the ARB TWIN only requires ~1A of current to activate, so any dash switch used only needs to be able to handle 1A (most can handle that, easily)."

sorry to bring up an old thread, but has anyone experienced a failure of their ARB compressor when having it mounted in the Expedition Essentials mount? mine corroded back there....

we haven’t and it’s been back there for three years now: but we periodically will give ours a clean or rinse down. Especially during the winter months when salt or snow melt has been on the road. The aluminum of the compressor is especially susceptible to corrosion if left alone.

What's the process you go through for this? Do you just spray it from the cubby hole, or do you unscrew the bracket, drop it down, and then spray it off?

What I do is a half and half solution of simple green and water , let it soak in for a few minutes and then a rinse with water; I do it just through the opening and then underneath from the rear.

Anyone find a way to use the EE mount in a Tacoma 2020? Perhaps by relocating the outlet?
