The secret to Santa gifts ..... buy it yourself, and put it under the tree "from Santa." My wife always asks what she bought me for Christmas.

I went with the compact M&P .22 since it's smaller so our son can hold it better. He loves to shoot. He's been wearing the Browning Buckmark out. Not to bad for 7 years old.

I love my 22c. I'm seriously considering the subcompact that came out recently

    Curious why?
A subcompact to me would be for CC and I wouldn't want to CC a .22
A .22 to me would be for target and plinking and I'd want a full size for that.

That’s me. All I want to do with a .22 is plink, may carry it when we go fishing for snakes but that’s it.

What's everyone using for ammo storage?

Keeping everything in the boxes as it comes?
    Dump into larger bulk container?
    Ammo cans?

Currently keeping everything in its own boxes and stacking them inside MTM ammo crates.
    Getting a bit cumbersome.

I have one of those cheap metal Stack On ammo cabinets with a few shelves (it does bolt to either floor or wall/mopboard). Everything inside simply stays in the packaging in which it was purchased. I have one of those silica/desiccant boxes in there for humidity control. I placed it inside a closet.

Edit - I didn't install the lower most shelf so I could stack ammo cans.

Ordered a holster from Dara for appendix carry for my Shield. Just got it. This thing is comfy!!! It was also cheaper than JM.

I mostly just purchase bulk, but the stuff I have that’s individually packaged is stored in 50cal ammo cans and then stack ammo cans on shelf...I label the ammo cans with a silver sharpie marker to easily identify what’s in each

I have my Shield .40 compact as my carry. i think its a good gun as its not to bulky, body is smooth, no random parts sticking out. Its holstered in Stealth Gear holster. Nicest holster ive used, very comfortable.

MTM boxes are the way to go. think therye a bit better than Plano boxes. MTM boxes all stack up and "lock" in to place. they dont slide back and forth. Plano didnt have that feature on their ammo boxes when i was looking at them.

It's all about the right holster! Makes all the difference, right? I love appendix carry now.
