Definitely an amateur woodworker but absolutely a hobby just need more tools! Anyway, here’s a current project and a couple past projects.

An end table dog crate for the living room, it’s a work in progress.

Anyone have a any shop projects going on? I'm currently working on a router table from some old reclaimed 2x4s and an old kitchen table top. Got peaces for the frame cut and drilled with pocket holes to be ready for assembly last night. Picking up screws, cheap casters later today. Picked up the a cheap decent rated router plate from Amazon at Christmas time and the router is an older 1.5 hp craftsmen that I got for free. Also working on designing a fence for it. Have to get creative with the shop projects due to budget, but its coming along.

I just finished a picture frame sled this past weekend. I'm going to try it out this weekend. I'll throw some pictures up next time I'm in the shop.

Sweet! Let me know how it works. Couple months ago I made just a basic attachment for my table saw sled for that. Its pretty basic but works for now.

Nice router table project @jmess82 - I need to do the same thing. Been working on getting my shop organized and put together. Here are some pictures of my rear platform and drawer that I just finished.

Thanks! Platform looks really good. I see alot of guys just slap together some 2x4s to make those! I like what you have done, looks like it fits nice and it just looks good all around.

Thanks man! The small planer I inherited was key to get the 2x10's down to the right thickness. I used Thompson's Autumn Brown stain and sealer. Sorta wish I had just used the clear. First pass at my drawer I decided to use FlexSeal. It took longer to brush on the FlexSeal than it did to make the drawer. Then it blew over in the wind. It's a giant rubber abomination, affectionately known as the dick drawer.

But I am repurposing it to be my mobile workbench base. Just got some casters put on it the other day...

The Dick Drawer HAHAHAHAH Nice!!! At least it was not a waste that will be a good use for it! Having a planer is great. I just picked up my cheap Harbor Freight planer a couple weeks ago and its one of the best perches I've made.

Beginning the top to my cabinet I posted earlier, it needs to be about 17" deep and I split these two boards. I was planning to use three of them, but I think it will look better if I cut them all a bit narrower and use all four.

Thinking the straighter ones on the outside, and still fretting about where to cut the more figured ones. There's a sizable knot towards the inside there, was thinking about 1.5" off the middle section to eliminate it.

Ya I use the Kreg jig for a lot of projects, I'd really like to spend some time learning some other joinery techniques.

Pocket hole jigs are a Godsend for simple projects or quick tables etc. I transitioned to MT joints using a drill press and a table saw, but you could get a decent set of chisels and be just fine. Woodworking is not a cheap hobby...I feel like plenty of guys initially see woodworking as a way to cut furniture costs (me), and end up spending a fortune on wood. Not to mention the tools. Oh man, the tools. Incredibly fulfilling work though.

Ok, this is what I came up with. In two glue ups until tomorrow. Also got a new toy from Rockler and doing some testing.
