My vacuum switching valve has an intermittent clicking / ticking sound that has gotten louder over the past few months. Was looking at replacing with either Toyota P/N 25860-75230 or the WVE replacement from Rockauto.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket VSVs on the 3.4? I'm debating if I should just fork over the money for the Toyota part.

I'd stick with OEM for that

Stick with DENSO products identical replacement products.
It won't say Toyota on it but DENSO is OE manufacturer.
You can buy from DENSO Products online.

I just looked at their website. I filtered for my year and the v6, and didn't see a listing for the VSV. But the OE part has Denso printed on it, so it's obviously made by them. I'm not having any luck finding where to buy the generic Denso part.

The part in your picture is a Purge Selnoid. Try using that name or do a part # search

    VSV is an EGR part
Purge Selnoid is an EVAP part
If the Purge Selnoid is not working properly you will get a Check Engine Light and 1 to 4 EVAP codes.

Thanks for the links, those are the best prices I've seen on the OE part. Also found this dude on ebay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-4RU...ING-VALVE-25860-75230-2586075230/322512421479 Generally skeptical of ebay, but his listings seem legit. I'm not opposed to spending $80, but it seems like a pretty simple part for an aftermarket company to replicate. Was hoping someone would have some experience with an aftermarket option.

I briefly got two CELs (one related to the rear o2 sensor which I replaced), but they strangely went away without me clearing it. The purge valve "ticking" is intermittent, but when it's audible it's pretty annoying at an idle stop. Used a stethoscope to track down the ticking sound, so fairly confident this is the problematic part.

IMG_20191023_224059219.jpg CELs will clear automatically when proper repairs are done.
Purge Selnoid clicking is normal and indicates it's working. There is a noise isolator on the valve so the less noise is transferred and amplified by body panels. Make sure the valve mounting pad is intact and doing it's job.
Doorman makes these also but state "off road use only". If your CEL is not lit don't need shit.

I should have been more clear, the CELs cleared prior to me replacing the o2 sensor. The lit up on a drive home, I checked them with my reader (did not clear) and then they never reappeared.

Thanks for the details. I know a certain amount of clicking is normal, but this has gotten quite a bit louder in recent months. I never heard it in the first 6 years of ownership. I will check the mounting pad though.

CEL codes are stored unless cleared.
Share the stored codes here if you want because there is a fuel tank pressure sensor in play with Purge Selnoid. Old School trick is to keep fuel tank filled to tell if the tank pressure switch is making the Purge Valve activity abnormally high.
