I’ve never towed anything other than a little trailer behind a lawn tractor, but will have to make a 600 mile trip with a 5x10 U-haul trailer when the current storm blows over, which is causing some anxiety. The spec sheet for my 2019 4X SR5 V6 DCLB lists the factory towing hitch, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, 4/7-pin connector, & trailer sway control, but makes no mention of a transmission cooler which I understand is part of the towing package, and important. If not installed, do I need to add one for this trip from VT to VA? Other than possibly getting a small flatbed to haul the tractor to the shop, I don’t foresee towing anything else. TIA.

There should also be a factory ATF cooler mounted in front of your rad, lower right.

    Have a look.

Edit: unless you are MT. In that case no trans cooler.

Thanks Jim. Appreciate your taking the trouble to post a picture. Yes, the cooler is there. Helps to know what you’re looking for, much less at. I’m not very savvy mechanically; already managed to bugger my OEM roof rack installation. While I have found lots of useful information here, and continue to marvel at the breadth of knowledge, not to mention creativity of the TW members, I best not stray too far from stock. Thanks again.

Get something like a Scangauge II, If you want to monitor your water, transmission temps etc.

Just pulling a small utility trailer don’t bother with all the extra stuff you won’t need. Get the hitch and wiring harness

Towing a 5x10 utility trailer with your truck is nothing. You may hardly notice you are towing something. This is a one time one way trip and There is nothing special you have to do. You don’t need scangauge, wdh, airbags, or anything else. Read your owners manual as far as what gear to tow in and then just tow it. Just hook that sucker up and tow it. Enjoy the trip.

I checked that out, briefly. Was interested to learn you only have to find one connector for plug n play, not run a bunch of sensors, so maybe I could manage the install, if I discover I need TMMI...that much more information. Was wowed by your build page. Thanks.

Good advice. KISS. Just need a ball and the thing it bolts to. And the dough for a One-Up bike rack...
