I wasn't bragging, just stating a fact. You do know that there were a few wars going on recently right? And some of us actually fought in them.

I think you might have taken my joke the wrong way....I wasn't insinuating that you were bragging or lying. I was making a joke acting like I could hold my own because I'm good at Halo. I was playing off of what you guys were talking about earlier; about people thinking they could run around and survive the apocalypse solo.

Maybe the recession isn't gonna hit all at once but we gotta face the facts that ZIRP is gonna screw us over time, and all our money just lost buying power by whatever percent that 7 trillion or so makes up of the total amount of money going around(idk what the stimulus total is at now). Those shit storms are gonna come around like it or not

My bad. I have no problem talking about that kind of thing, and I do if it comes up in conversation, and I guess I get a little butt hurt when it seems as if people don't believe me. I can back everything up with plenty of records if some stolen valor douche ever asked.

It's awkward to drop a line like that, and I understand why people would think I'm full of shit, but what else should I do? I like casual conversations about IEDs and firefights.

Even after typing this message and looking back at it, I am sure half of those who read it will think I am full of shit. Oh well.

Edit: I fully understand that posts like this make me look like a tool. I probably need to talk to someone..

The average person doesn't understand what some people have done and continue to do for our country.

I wouldn't say it makes you come across as a tool but sometimes it's better to just keep your mouth shut. I'd rather people think I'm not a threat in any situation. I don't need people to know my skill set or background and would prefer that they don't.

As long as you feel mentally healthy and don't have PTSD or TBI I wouldn't worry about talking to anyone. If you do need to vent there are plenty of support groups to help you out. There's a lot of things you see in life that can't be unseen. Some people deal better with that then others.

Sorry again, didn't even realize you were Navy.

It's a lose-lose. When you avoid discussing it, it's not good for you (I learned that one). When you do discuss it, you get pissed off real quick.

According to the VA, 70% for those two things. Ran over an IED.

Keep talking to someone about it then. PTSD can wreck a person years down the line. Human psychology isn't something that's easy to understand and there's no switch to turn it off. It takes time to rewire your brain and make sense of things. Some people never do. I hope your not one of them and wish you the best.

I know. I’ll drop this. I got a little fired up about that comment a while back, which was harmless, and I was probably asking for it with what I said.
