I’m still into trucks. I thought you were implying the Supra motor could be used in the new Trucks from Toyota ?

I’ll go with “samesies.” It’s hard to know what will happen in 4-6 years. You’ll always have a demand for smaller trucks because some of us have “heritage” garage dimensions that can’t fit anything much bigger. (It was going to be tight just to fit a Ridgeline in my 70’s garage because of the width, for instance.)

They way things are going. We might get a BMW engine in the 4th gen beside the grille.

Seriously, it looks like the 3.5 six and the 2.5 four will dominate the power plant line up for Toyota, configured from going alone, to being turbo charged to co generator in hybrids.

Are there any hybrid trucks out there on the market, I'm wondering. Not sure that's a move Toyota willing to do if the 3.5L dominates the mid size segment regardless.
Hybrids are synonymous with city cars, and it's fragile. Not sure it will be a good fit for a P/U truck.

My guess is that it depends upon how it’s engineered. Electric. motors aren’t fragile. Aamof, they are better for work load then any gas engine. I think the delay is in the transmission, the weakest link in any vehicle.

GM had a Hybrid but in typical GM fashion it was only a half assed effort. Ford is coming out with a Hybrid F-150. Ram has a mild hybrid called e-torque.
