Thanks for the replies guys. Am I the only one considering it? If the SC does perform as advertised and we see up to 50% more power, especially down low between 2-3k rpm, this little truck is going to be an absolute blast on road and Offroad.

oh I seriously doubt we'll see a 50% gain in power. More power? Sure. 50%? Eh probably not

I think there are way more people interested in turbos than superchargers. this truck needs as much help as it can get as low as it can get in the RPMs

With 1.05 FOB and 2.0 Base and SFOB, the Taco is fun and has delivered whether hauling people, loads in the bed, or with my small trailer. Raptor power would certainly be hella fun, but I don't need it. The TT kit price is certainly reasonable.

My big wait and see is about towing a heavy trailer. About 75% of the gross allowed. If it tows well enough, then I might be good to go without FI?

You still intending to stay on that preorder list that had been going around?

    That's a significantly valid consideration.

Dang I didn’t know it was that big of a difference! Will it be CARB compliant? Here in CA we have to get smog checked and I’m worried something not CARB compliant will make me fail and not get my registration renewed. Our epa laws stink out here!

Also, will the TT leave my truck stranded if it or a component of it fails? Magnuson said there’s can fail and your still engine is still fine and works like any other N/A engine, which makes me feel better.
But man at the TT price, I can do that and have a bunch of $$ left over compared to the SC.

Ovtune setup will not be CARB. Too much $ and politics to do that for a small business. I'm sorry you live in CA, my only suggestion is to move.

Both scenarios are highly dependent on what the failure mode was.....

A couple thousand miles on 2.0 93 FOB (or whatever it's called, I've forgotten now) and I like it so much this is only my second time back to the thread since flashing. I genuinely look forward to driving my truck these days. Still some rev hang from first to second, but I'll live with it compared to how amazing everything else is. Solid job @OVTune very well done :)

Finally updated to 0471, tech stream kicked my ass getting it installed, as the copy paste the zip file over the main menu file was a little unclear. Once I got past that it was a five minute rewrite, them put premium SFOB in again.
Not sure if it’s just initial excitement, but the truck seems to be far better with the upgraded tsb tune as a base. Kicking myself in the ass for not doing this a year ago. Second gear rubber is a thing now.

    thanks OVTune.

It sounds like you flashed with TS V12? If so, that version won't allow you to do customization and diagnostics. If you want to be able to do that, @lapoltba and I have TS V14 shared in our signatures. It is a slightly different PITA to install, but will work with even 2020 Tacos.

It’s much less of a pain in the ass than v12

The antivirus thing seem to be troublesome still. Also, I have heard from folks getting a 30 use countdown. From my own experience there, an uninstall / reinstall seems to take care of that.

Either way, it is was worth the effort over and over between flashing the TSB tune and the customizations.
