so my sister here in Omaha told me that the Missouri border is shut down by the law
i had to check that out for myself on the IA/MO/NE state lines near Rock Port today, battled the nasty 40mph wind gusts and dust storms from the river levees throwing my taco all over the road on south I29, hwy 136 and hwy 75 back north

i was very disappointed to cross the state border to find no authorities car checking out-of-state travelers
    so what is the deal?
my uncle and aunt are nearly 80 years old and located out in the rural parts of Sedalia MO
i would like to visit them for a couple days while it currently takes $26 to fill my trucks fuel tank and not nearly $50 like it was for many many years in the past decade+
will i need to be self-quarantined by law for 14 days after crossing MO state lines just to visit a close relative?

Visiting them risks exposing them to anything you might have picked up. It's risky.

uh... i haven't heard anything like that no. Parsons has been a bit loose on laws compared to other states as far as I've gathered.
imo, quarantine is kinda up to everyone's own morality. Lots of people still doing things they don't need to do every day, lots of people not leaving. If you're not coming from a high risk area and have no reason to think your sick, then there's only as much issue as you really want there to be. Obviously you don't want to put them at risk.
No one can force you to quarantine by law without knowing your situation like that randomly. Not here, lol.

my city mayor declared martial law yesterday on the city parks here because some did not adhere to the 10 person quidance on the basketball courts

if you walk your dog in the park by yourself you MAY be arrested

golf courses are open still, 1 person per cart

There was talk of closing down state borders, but there's no way it'll happen. Think about the number of trucks full of goods that cross those borders every day - ESPECIALLY the ones full of TP. We'd be even more screwed.

All the public stuff closed down around here too, caution tape and everything. Which sucks, I really want to go for a hike or something.

I mean, here you can technically get pulled over if you're going somewhere and theyll ask you if youre doing something essential but no ones enforcing that. lots of public places and services are closed, however.

Huh. Really? I didn't realize you could get pulled over. If they ask, I'm on my way to get food.

I was out yesterday afternoon and it felt pretty busy. I even went to the DMV - which was actually a far better experience than usual

Everyone here in BS has been out, I haven't seen a reduction in traffic or foot traffic in stores at all. Kinda tragic but, it is what it is I guess.

I have been holed up in my basement working or in the garage, so I haven't seen anything change. But we've got 249 cases in KC metro, so either we haven't hit the knee of the curve yet, or we've got it under control. I guess we'll see over the next few weeks.

Either way i need to get groceries in the next week. Its been 3 weeks since my last grocery trip and while I'm not going to starve, I'm not quite ready to go hard on the beans just yet.

Even if the state borders were "closed" trucking would be allowed through. It's too vital to the nation to stop completely.

Also, "Martial Law" is not closing parks, that's just called closing parks. It's been done all over (but possibly not everywhere) the country.

It seems some people don’t understand martial law. Nor do they understand “stay at home” or “asymptomatic transmission”

If they work with the Camburg kit, I'll take them. How many miles are on your truck?

Great, once I know for sure they will work, i'll let you know. I have already busted mine apart to install the axle shafts, but mine also have a 160K on them haha. It would be nice to have some freshly built CV axles.
