Sorry to hear that, trucks become your best friend and it must’ve been heartbreaking for him to lose the investment that he worked hard for

All have great opportunities, and the military will let you get your college while in.

I’ll be graduating with an associates degree straight out of high school this May so that makes me eligible to apply for the Highway Patrol once I turn 21. I can apply to the Border Patrol, Navy, and Coast Guard after I’m done with high school but the starting pay won’t be as much as a recruit with a bachelors degree. I’m torn between school or military/Border Patrol

My dads been driving for 23 years. Thank God he’s never been involved in an accident even when he was driving nationwide and to Canada during the winter. Started his career with Werner before moving to his current company at Forward Air in 2006

If I had to do it over again, sure others would join in on this. I would get the schooling out of the way now, as you get older, responsibilities kick in and it gets tougher. Not that you can't do it later but it definitely makes it more challenging. Just my .02, and if you have your bachelors you could be Lt. Fez...:D, instead of seaman Fez...

Oh ya it definitely gets harder once you’re in your 20’s. I think I’ll end up going to school and getting a degree in business administration or something along those lines. Was going to get a criminal justice but Border Patrol agents themselves told me it was a waste of time and money

The color schemes on Werner trucks have always appealed to me since I was a little boy

Talked to a chemical engineer about running DEF, he said it doesn’t compromise power at all. It does clean the exhaust emissions to the point of being almost as clean as a propane vehicle. Propane can be run in an enclosed space according to osha. Also his 2020 Chevy 6.6 puts out the same power that my 2016 cascadia did. The new stuff keeps getting more powerful.

Hey Brother! Just heard from the steel guys yesterday and they are supposed to be starting the erecting today!! Pretty awesome. I’m going to try and grab a few pics and maybe a little drone footage along the way. If I can get some cool shots I’ll share them here with y’all. Have a great day!

I knew propane can be used indoors. Forklifts are propane powered and used inside warehouses. His Chevy a 2500?

3500 with the new 10 speed Allison transmission. My freight liner had a 6.7 Cummins and an Allison 10 speed, his has the same torque and more hp. The unfortunate thing about the way newer rigs are designed is that people aren’t being taught to drive a manual transmission anymore. My company won’t hire you if you can’t do it, we have 6,8,10, and 13 speed trucks.

That’s the way it should be. My dads old Volvo was a 10 speed Eaton Fuller. I was able to drive it around the truck yard a few times and man that thing was a blast to drive. It was like driving a manual car, the steering wheel in the Volvo was smaller than the steering wheel in my Tacoma. The new Freightliner has a steering wheel bigger than a large Pizza Hut pepperoni pizza
