I had a really shady dealer on Long Island try to offer me 17% once. And tell me a week long transit plate was $300 in NY. I did not buy from them.

The v8 ones self distrust by 130k. I used to shop for those in the 6 cylinder. Every time I found a v8 it said "doesn't drive, needs transmission"

Yeah, I told him, "That's one option, or I could just finance with my own credit union now and be done with it". They came down to match my rate (which was a really good rate so I wasn't upset when they couldn't beat it).

Been thinking about one for the wife. She loves her rogue but I don't lol. Lease is up in September and ice been looking at wagons and suvs and crossovers for months lol. I assume I'll be able to negotiate the buyout on her car but it'll need new tires at least before it goes back. Choices choices

Well.....In December it was about standard, for a new MY vehicle. I really did all the timing wrong, middle of the month, new model year, all the worst things to do....DID 'EM! (hey, at least I can afford it and it's for a tacoma not something stupid).

Problem was if I went outside I would have lost 2k in rebates. o_O so it's a higher percent buuut at the end it was worth it on payment no. 72 (or month 72, whatever).

Oh yeah, they're silly. Never go with the first rate. I got 6.5% first and told them nevermind, it's a nice truck but I'm not dead set on it (lie). Got me down to 5.69, probably could have gone for more but....see above, I made the trifecta of bad moves :p - And still, am happy with the truck.

Hahaha she sat in one at the auto show and was like I feel like a badass but she also said she felt butch lmao. She wasn't in life, also not looking to spend that much especially with how outdated the 4runnet is. It's part of why I haven't bought a Tundra and sold the Tacoma.

What is with people and Rogues? Half my family has one and some have replaced one Rogue with another Rogue. I haven't been impressed--I think they're very noisy and pretty boring. My girlfriend's CX5 is nicer in every way and about the same price.

It isn't even reliability that sells them--my uncle just traded his for a newer Rogue because he heard the CVTs in the one he had weren't reliable and he was getting near the mileage where they become problematic.

They're moderately reliable, very cheap, and moderately boring.

We're on a tacoma forum - of course we give a crap about vehicles, but we are not the majority, the rogue is comfortable, cheap, reliable, and nothing exciting - it checks every box for a family hauler crossover for the "whatever" crowd :D

I'd like to think I care enough about vehicles to buy something that not everyone else does. But, I own the number one selling vehicle in the country.

I guess in my defense it was a custom order--it's an extended cab which is rare now, an awesome color, and has 3.73 gears!

I don't care about others owning it - in fact, I kind of like that others have it, means repairs and spares are cheap (ever trolled Facebook/CL for TRD OR Take Offs?? I could replace my wheels and tires all things told for like 200$!). I just care about the things more than most people. Most people are only concerned with go go juice makes noise makes the vroom vroom go with the pedal. I care which engine it has - I was actually considering the 4 banger just because of the engine over the V6, etc etc etc.

My wife always said how much she liked driving my old Tacoma. When her CX-5 got munched I mentioned the T4R and she said while she loved driving my truck, she wouldn't want it as a daily. She actually found her JGC big when she first drove it, and by now it's much smaller feeling than when she first got it.

My Mom had a 2012 Rogue to replace her beloved 98 Pathfinder. She got a decent deal on it but she ultimately hated it. It was impossible to see out of, and a weird turning circle and a noisy driveline. She ended up with a 2015 Forester she loved and then just got a 2019 Forester this past year that she is absolutely in love with.

I'd buy another CX-5 in a heart beat. I only had three gripes with it, and two of them I bought have fixed if I got another. I thought it was a bit loud for a CUV. It had a really good growl and I enjoyed it, but starting it, it was surprisngly loud. The headlights were awful, but we didn't have the Tech package with the LED head lamps which I think would have helped. The halogen projector cutoffs were super sharp, so going down a hill you couldn't see. Lastly the factory remote start was horrid. Zero range, shut the car off when you opened the door and the fob was larger than the smart key.

I loved how flingable it was a crossover.

I have to admit my favorite rental car is the Subaru legacy. I've tossed around the idea of trading the t4r in and leasing one for cheap. They're comfy, agile, come with good options, awd, good mileage, and cheap

I've thought about Subarus but don't like the whole head gasket think I keep hearing about. How long have you had the JGC? Any issues? What engine? New or used? Thought about the v8 for towing the trailer or even a v8 Durango but I just can't get my head over the fiat Chrysler reputation. Whatever she gets, planning to keep at least 6 years+.

I had an 04 JGC with the 4.0 which was basically bullet proof. It was a great driver train. Horrible vehicle. Great engine great transmission. I’ll never own another Jeep again, for what it’s worth.

the head gasket is an old problem I didn’t think the newer ones had that issue. And at that I thought it was fixed on some of the older ones too.

I looked at trading the t4r for a lease on a v6 jgc too. I couldn't believe how slow it was
