Ok I know that area. I think Denver is taking a bigger hit, the small town I live in and the ones nearby have been pretty normal. Lot of masks starting to show up lately though.

I also have a simulator in my garage, but haven't taken advantage of it during the SIP.

This was like right after RI was starting to pop out of state plates, etc.

Man never thought I would see a day where I would have to print the constitution and bill of rights out and keep it in the glove box of the car incase I got pulled over.

they started pulling over every NY plate to instruct them to quarantine for 14 days and started also going to residences registered to out of state owners (?). It was insane. Maine is just counting the out of state plates too and probably some other stuff similar to RI.

I’m conflicted because I’ve been on both sides of it. Living in BFE Maine and understand the annoyance of people told to stay home and stay inside and don’t travel, suddenly are showing up hundreds of miles away at their vacation house in the middle of nowhere - with no medical care infrastructure. This means they could be carrying and spread it to the elderly population up there with no support, or could develop symptoms and cause a strain in the shack that is the hospitals up there.

but if I was told I had to work from home for weeks without a foreseeable “end” to my staying at home, my kids were told to stay home from school and classes are online....if my options were either the mess of the cities or a lake front (or ocean) house and environment...yeah I understand the desire to go up to camp!

I think the annoyance is more that Mainers don’t like vacationers (one reason I left, couldn’t stand the animosity toward their biggest value stream....), and it was kind of a slap in the face to be told to stay home, don’t travel and then they show up in Maine. I am actually sort of with the locals on that one, that’s really insulting to be told stay away to avoid the spread, and then immediately ignore it and travel, creating a potential spread to a small community (usually elderly too).

but for RI gov to instruct the state police (oh and the national guard) to pull over all NY plates specifically was a load of crap. Lasted a few days before Cuomo called her out and said it was nonsense. So her reaction instead was to start pulling over every out of state plate, not just NY.

Yea I’ve been working from home and had to go to the office today and there was a lot of traffic out there. I think people just don’t care anymore, it’s not as bad as predicted

Maine is a beautiful state BTW, definately flies under the radar. We took a trip there, everyone was pretty cool. I could only imagine it there in the fall though with evreyone from the neighboring states invading.

Smart, I went all in on Norwegian. My thinking was they are in a better position financially. But I think they’ll both make it

I’m back full time on site at work as of this week. A few people here and there working from home but overall we’re back full staff. Production slowed, shockingly, but we’re back to normal staffing.

the fall has a decent swing but it’s mostly the summer.

See above. The people who come in the fall are the ones who come to the same b&b, eat at the same restaurant, go to the same nature preserve, etc. old folks.

the summer is when people come and get tattoos, pizza, the air brush guy does motorcycle gas tanks, etc. the summer is when the money comes in and the people are spending. Fall is busy but the tourists don’t spend as much.

I mean. Just do both :D. I went in on both. Unfortunately those will be traded for dividend earners once they go back up.

Just going by my credit card bill after visiting Maine in early October for a week and a half, I'm scared to think what the summer folks spend. Bit of Acadia, bit of Bangor, bit of Millinocket / driving thru Baxter. Added up.

Set my limit buy orders, the prices set are roughly 10-15% off their 52week lows depending on the name. I'm betting on another drop of the market and picking up these names into my retirement accounts, I may change the prices depending on what kind of news surfaces in the upcoming weeks.
    JNJ
    AMZN
    MCD
    K
    PM
BA (going way short here with sub 100, doubt this will ever fill)
I will probibly add a NASDAQ and S&P index fund to the mix on the next down turn. I'm also kicking around a gold ETF, it hasn't been moving too much especially based off the printing presses going grrr which is odd. I have a lot to play with in one of my IRAs, just dont want to be running my own mutual fund in it LOL!!!

This is all subject to change depending what kind of news starts dropping in the upcoming weeks here, I may ratchet the prices down below their 52 week lows depending on the names.
