Maglite Mount Mod

Very high quality. Needed a flashlight to run off D batteries so this was the best option.

 

I have a Streamlight Strion that I keep with me. I also have a maglight in the glovebox of both trucks. Might need to club or hammer something. Plus the maglite with led conversion will run for 24 hours straight should I need just barely enough light for a long period of time.

 

Just curious. How do you guys justify, Surefire almost $140, to your self let alone to her if she knows what you do with your money ?Thanks. Curious George.

 

Gotta treat her like your flashlight, put her in the slot that she was made for....that's why houses have kitchens.

It's simple: I don't piss and moan when she comes home with five new shirts. Being understanding of her little joys in life helps her to understand my insatiable desire for awesome little gadgets. That and I'm generally pretty frugal in other areas.

 

She says I'm cheap. Thanks, now I can say "No I'm frugal". This will be a big upgrade for me. Thanks again.

i hated my maglite..I had one in my jeep, it died in less then 6 months. Friend of mine gave me a brand new 6d cell maglite that I never put batteries in..Just looks cool hangin on the wall. I bought a cheapy led lite at a swapmeet one time 6 years ago, and it out preforms the maglite anyday. Its still got the original batteries in it.

I have been turned on to the streamlight stinger series of flashlights..At $140ish for the light and charger, I need to wait lol.

 

I have a streamlight Strion in my 08 DC as well..

I justified the cost of is by helping me put my mind at ease. Knowing that whenever i need the light, i'm just going to remove it from the charging craddle and its going to be ready for use. Not having to wonder if the battery has leaked or died.

The stream light chargers are smart and dont overcharge the battery so you dont have to take them out when they're charged

$140 for a light thats 1/3 the weight of a 3D/4D Maglight with higher output and range... well worth it

OP, I got my mag lite mounts at ACE Hardware. AND I might add that this is the second vehicle they have been mounted in and they are still holding up great.

I put a 3D LED Maglite in my truck right after I got it, 2.5 years ago, use it all the time, still on the original batteries.

And like someone said, they make a great club! So when you meet some yuppie f**k who spent a 140 dollars on a f**king flashlight that could be lost in shag carpet (if it was off of course), you can smack them upside the head, take the flashlight and the keys to their Hummer and go have some fun.

OF course I am kidding but really? $140 for your "peace of mind"? What the hell are you guys? Delta Force Operators or something?

Don't mount the 4 cell mag to the side of the seat. I did & even made a support plate on the backside & it was still too heavy. Broke the plastic tabs on the front backside if the piece the mounts were attached to.

I have used Surefire lights professionally and they are rock solid and work as described but now that having the need to hold a light that will blind people I have switched to the Nitecore D series lights as they are a very nice small package and use standard AA series batteries found most everywhere. I have a couple of the D10's here and have a D11 (latest generation) on the way. They are affordable, lightweight, pocket-sized, and excellent performers. I usually order from battery junction because I like their prices and level of service, however your mileage may vary.
