18x9 XD Rockstar Wheel backspacing?

I'm about to order some 18x9 XD Rockstar wheels with T285/65R18 Nitto Terra Grappler tires for my 2008 Access Cab with a 3in OME lift. What backspacing will I need so I don't encounter any rubbing? I know I"ll have to ditch the mud flaps and trip the fender lining a little but I don't want to have rubbing on the UCA. Thanks

 

4.5 backspacing

 

um idk ill take a stab at it thought for a bump...with 8" rims you want 4.5 bs so what 9" rim a 4.5" bs with 12 mm offset?

 

that i believe is for a 8" rim he is looking at a 9" rim

 

Yep you are still going to want a 4.5" backspaced wheel. For a 9" wheel, that would -12mm offset.


You'll still rub a little bit though without trimming your fender well plastic. Some guys also have to chop the cab mount as well.

Okay the guy I'm ordering from only has the 5" backspacing in stock. Would this be good or bad? Anyone here running this?

 

You'll have to run 265/65/18's with that backspacing. Either that or get 1/2" wheel spacers to run the 285's.

With the 5" backspacing and the 285's, you'll rub on the UCA.

Well I definitely don't want to have to buy a spacer after spending so much on wheels/tires. Aren't the 265's about a half inch smaller in diameter?

Oh crap... that's a lot bigger difference than I thought. Not sure if I want to go with a tire that much smaller. I guess I'll have to try to wait and see if he can get the 4.5" backspacing

 

its overall 1" but the sidewall difference is 1/2". I really liked my 265/75/16 with my old OME 3" lift

 

Stirring the pot here, but are you set on the rockstars? By far my least favorite rim out there.

To be honest I'd rather have the extra lift provided by the tires...It probably wouldn't affect my gas mileage that much

Not completely... I can get a pretty good deal on them though. Any other suggestions for black wheels in an 18?

Haha well I was originally looking at the Wheeler's steel wheels, but shipping is so high to NC i found I could get some real wheels/tires for cheaper.

 

what tires are you looking to get? mud terrain all terrain? bfg cooper kuhmo?
