Considering the rack uses much less fluid than the old boxes this makes sense. Just get a 3vz-e pump

It's weird I have a friend running bone stock 3.4 pumps from autozone on his 4runner with hydro assist and it works fine. Meanwhile mine hates life with a ford box and a cooler damn near the size of my radiator. That also may be because my ps steering box is like .5" (literally) from the exhaust manifold.

@Kwikvette Yup the Slash is dying, probably gonna get a new JBL to replace it. I had great luck with them in my last three rigs.

To add another layer of confusion to this, I had a hydraulics expert on my old team at work telling me we are all running waaaay too high of a gpm through the system and that's why everything overheats and doesn't work right. He then went into a bunch of terms and calculations that I was way to dumb to follow.

Am I right in remembering that they mount the same? Just different reservoir and the high pressure output location different?

Hmmm, that is interesting, I thought it was the opposite

What are you running for fluid? I know PSC/TG say not to use ATF

I honestly am not sure it’s been so long. But the 3.4l and 3.0l were the same block. Should be able to make work

    Hahahahaha

No plan aside from laundry, and cutting my own hair if my clippers arrive.

Based on the forecast this weekend, I'll be doing some light wheeling with the possibility of staying the night if LEO don't kick me out.

    Oof

Is it not putting out the right current?

I've always adjusted the amp based on the signal output with the volume at 3/4 off max by measuring the voltage/current from the speaker output on the amp

Any chance an aftermarket high pressure line was installed? I've seen some Nissan pumps scream bloody murder when an aftermarket high pressure line is installed.

I am running an aftermarket high pressure line, you may be onto something with it causing issues

It's acting almost like someone is turning the gain down, and then it'll come back randomly for a bit. I had it adjusted perfectly, had the oscilloscope on it originally to dial it in to max before clipping. And I hadn't touched it since setting it. It's just had it. Had an easy life with me too, I use it hard but it's only driving a 350w sub.

Interesting....wonder if heat has anything to do with it.

Thermal protection could be kicking in to save itself, prematurely
