Ok, I haven't posted for a while so I will update you on the 2" - 2.5" lift that I installed on my truck.

I went with the following hardware:

    1.) Coils: OME 887
    2.) Shocks: Bilstein 5100 (3rd Gen)
3.) Icon AAL with overload spring left in.
4.) 1/4 spacer on the drivers side to account for gas tank lean. (taco lean)

Overall, the job wasn't too bad but I did have to track down some necessary resources.

Coil and Shock Pairing Guide by Headstrong. Super helpful!

Great build thread! Love the pics. I have billy 5100s on my '09 now. I'm curious how your ride feels going with the OMEs. I'm thinking about upgrading the coils on mine from the stocks.

Thanks!! The ride quality has been really good. The rear is a little stiffer but I expected that because I left in the overload leaf. I tend to tow things in the bed and haul the M101A2 trailer around full of camping gear and I didn’t want the back to sag. If you leave the overload load leaf out (like the Icon folks recommend) then the ride would be identical or better than stock. Go for it! I went 887 over 888 because I wanted a little rake in the back. I like that look.

I guess my big question is - have you noticed a difference in the front suspension going from stock to the bilstein/OME combo?

Great build bro. I’m going to be getting the same set up. I have a DCLB. I would like to get 2.5” in front and 1.5” in rear. You suggest To get 887?

Heck yes! That's exactly what I am trying to figure out. I really want to go with a 285/70/16 AT or MT tire. I like the aggressive look and even though I don't get off road all that often in the winter, I am always outdoors in the spring, summer and fall. My issues is I don't want to totally lose all the MPG's so I'm looking for something in the middle. Currently checking out Goodyear Duratrac's. They seem to be good on and off road plus are on the lighter end even being an E tire. The 285/70/16 is 55lbs.

The Falken Wildpeaks are 60.9lbs, also an E tire.

Anyway, just looking around now. I have contemplated going 265 as well but I feel like I will feel like I sold out.

I pick the 887 over the 888 because I still wanted a rake on the tuck. If you want to level it out while its parked, then the 888 is the way to go.

The OME 887 will get you the rake. The OME 888 will level it out.

I just threw on Falken wildpeaks, I went a bit nuts and got 285/75r16s. Basically 33s. I'm having a few rub issues but that's due to my wheels lacking some backspacing, but I don't regret the purchase. They are super nice.

Picked up a set on Amazon for 160$ each. Ive noticed the price varies from day to day, just saw them over 190$ the other day. If they're looking expensive just wait a day and check again.

Well I finally got tires put on the truck! I went with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's. 265/75/16. I went this route because it was the most aggressive tread that I could get in a C load tire. 18/32 tread depth. The tire weight somewhere around 48lbs.

I'm thinking about adding some wheel spacers next. I have heard that if you purchase quality there are no real concerns. Any suggestions?
