I think it is designed more for RTT’s but I use it for bikes (when trailer is attached mostly) and SUP. Pretty stoked on it. It’s pretty versatile as it can be lowered or raised or completely removed in minutes.

I was looking at this... as it is compatible with one of the secure roll top covers....

Its nice, but, the package is currently more than I want to spend..

Nice to see some pics that arent from the MFR

that thing is TALL... at higher than roofline its 20"+ looks like at least 24".... I'd go no taller than 20" just trying to keep my RTT out of the wind making my truck more of a brick.. I currently have the KBVOODOO high rise bars with my tonneau and an ARB simpson III. the tent sits tall at just over a foot, and with the bars it puts it about 2-3 inches below the roofline. although I do want it higher so I can use my annex, it's worked fine the last few trips. just have to duck to climb into the tent. I settled for the highrise bars out of lack of funds 2 weeks before a trip.. for $380 shipped they did the trick, and are study ASF. and i can still use my tonneau cover to keep my gear dry..

I have the KB bars as well, though, not for RTT, bikes, and other things..

The thing about the yakima, its height adjustable... lower it... then, need to carry lumber, canoe. Etc.... raise it up.

As Chasespeed said it is height adjustable. The lowest setting would have it below the roofline. I have it adjusted to the current height and width to accommodate my bikes and the stand up paddleboard (which has to clear that shark fin antenna on the Taco). And yes Yakima is proud of them as they are pricey. For my particular situation I was debating between this setup and some type of camper shell setup. Probably wasn’t much of a cost savings compared to some of the less expensive camper shells or a softopper, but I like this particular setup for my needs. I’m not a big fan of camper shells and was only looking at on for the dog to ride in. I’m probably going to add a fly rod vault to it on the side. I also think it looks cool, like something you might see in the outback of Australia ;)

I saw the adjusters on the 3rd and 4th pics (bolts?), however doesnt look like it goes much lower than the roofline, and would be a pain to adjust with any weight on it..

i'm set at 21" to clear the antenna, but could probably drop it to 19"-20" if i want to adjust them.

I'm looking at a similar combo with the Retrax XR tonneau. How are you liking this setup?

Any water infiltration issues with the retrax?

i like it a lot. i get a bit of water intrusion around the canister, but not enough to bother trying to seal it up better. no leaks from the cover or the rails.

I really like the Yakima Overhaul HD setup and how it integrates with the Retrax Tonneau cover.

What length cross bars did you go with? I have a Yakima Skyrise 3, and I want to put the awning up as well...I'm thinking the 68" would be fine?

Do you think 68" are too long?

For my needs, yes. In looking at the vertical photo I posted, you can envision adding 4-inches to the length and still line up with the wheel fender, so I don't think the 68-inch would look too long. Plus, that would give you more usable space under the awning.

I'm not sure. Might be cutting it close with that size.
