Lol, we could butcher up a Mountain Hatch cutting board and still come out cheaper than the XTP spacers

Just need a big enough printer...though you could split it in two really. Even the "standard" PLA filament should work. I'd still do the brass sleeves so the clamping pressure is applied to them and not directly on the plastic though.

i have a set of chromoly cam gears. the were cut to stock specs instead of the 3* change. a machinist could alter these. i spent money, 20$ and youre on your way.

I do need a reason to ditch the CRAPPYtune and get on board with HpT. You make it too easy with the obdII module already.

This must be the worst OP article I've ever read about the Tacoma, and then I got sucked into read the next worst OP article I've ever read, about the GX470.

    https://www.motorbiscuit.com/the-worst-used-toyota-tacoma-years-you-need-to-avoid/

    https://www.motorbiscuit.com/the-most-common-lexus-gx-470-problems-owners-deal-with/

There goes 5min of my life I'll never get back.

    Tl;Dr the worst years for Tacoma are 2016, 2017, and 2009. o_O:rofl:

The 3rd gen because of the transmission and CPS, and the 2009 specifically because of radio headunit issues and reported driveability problems.

The gx470: 2006 with the introduction of SAI, and 2003.

"There may be more complaints for the 2006 model year of the Lexus GX 470, but CarComplaints.com says 2003 may be the worst year for problems. Based on the number of occurrences, the average mileage at which the issues present, and the costs of repairs, the reports of clunking sounds make 2003 the worst.

Occurring around 77,000 miles and costing $4,000 to fix, this suspension and driveshaft problem is significant for those who encounter it. The RepairPal.com gurus have reports of 85 GX 470 owners with this problem."

Omfg 85 reports of a clunky driveshaft!!?? How could Lexus allow such a high number of owners to experience that?? I'm never buying a gx now!:bananadead:

Interestingly, the 2005 was the first year with SAI and the driveshaft clunk is from the ds weeping grease. Its solved by greasing the driveshaft every time you change the oil. Since its probably on a rack already, it takes an extra 5 minutes. Oddly, it doesnt mention the warping brake rotors common to the 470 and the 4th gen 4runner or the dash that cracked frequently enough for a recall. TL;DR thanks for wasting 5 minutes of my life too.

So i was pulling a stump yesterday in 4lo and got a fairly loud popping noise from the front end during hard pulls. Both CVs are most likely shot, but to be clear it sounded like something slipping since it was a bunch of pops in a row when the wheels werent turning at all. THOTs?

You have atrac and all that gizmotry? It wasn't that was it? Or were you jerking that snatch strap pretty good?

Or your CVs really are shot and stripped out in there. I'm having flashbacks to that white 460 I came up on at tinkham Rd all fucked off with a broken front arb and both CV axles broken. :bananadead:

Nah that sounds like ABS. This was LOUD, sharp metallic pops like something was slipping or breaking, but it drives fine. Full time AWD too so its pushing the CVs even on pavement. I was pulling a tree stump in 4lo with the center diff locked in reverse. The noise happened at around 3k on grass but no wheel slip. Front wheels were slightly to the left but it hasnt done it since. no clunk or anything when i turn that would indicate bad CV joints. I have a torn boot and one is leaking grease around the inboard band.
