I still dont comprehend how you can have an investment thread with no talk of fiscal policy that is directly affecting the stock market and the economy. Not trying to be antaognistic just want a discussion and reasoning.

 

We always do. We can have a discussion of fiscal mismanagement, even if that mismanagement was Federal or State, in a financial thread though. Can't we?

 

Exactly, policy and fiscal mis management will have a direct affect on future earnings and the stock market, just like if CEOs were poorly running a company and mismanaging the business.

If you cant discuss that you may as well just lock the thread as in this environment that is going to be a massive driver of the stock market in the future, probably the largest for the foreseeable future.

I do agree that finger pointing on who's team does things better is annoying and draining.

Again just trying to have an open discussion.

on the flip side. Anyone else think that Monday will be down again? I’m saying down Monday, insignificant day Tuesday. Wednesday rallys strong. Thursday rally’s just not as strong. Friday crash and burn.

I have no basis for this. Just a shot in the dark. As good as anything else with how it’s been going.

edit: I think there’s sometimes a clear line of “hey the feds cut rates and that’s affecting x y and z” which is somewhat political and is related. But sometimes we see people sidetrack and start talking about presidential candidates and their policies and that bitch Carole Baskin. You can definitely talk when it’s not political ideaology focused from what I’ve seen enforced by the mod team here. It’s sometimes easy to get sidetracked though.

 

Maybe we can not use party lines when discussing fiscal policy. We can just name the policy and the date it went into effect. Both sides have fucked things up and I truly don't care about the politics behind it. All I care about are monetary policy that directly affects my family and friends.

I'm banking on the next few weeks being down. I'm actually dropping my limit buy prices to below the 52 week low the more that I think about it. I'm still thinking we will be down by the 2008 levels before this is all said and done.

 

I already buy a liscense every year for fishing, hunting and trout so I dont really know if they suspended it or not. And yes just fishing is like $10 or 15. To hunt almost everything in ga except alligator it's like $55. Not sure how much it is for a gator tag.

Don't have Netflix so have missed all the hoopla I guess.

(Nothing really against Netflix per-se, just that I already have more content available with my existing services than I have time to watch, so I haven't seen the point of another streaming sub.)

Yeah fresh and salt licenses are cheap. And reciprocal in a lot of New England so that’s nice. I think fowl is like 25 bucks. I never said they were expensive, just curious if he wasn’t interested in checking licenses since there’s no retirement at the time.

I don’t watch much tv. This was just something my wife and her family were watching so I joined in. You can’t watch it sober.

edit: I am glad I watched it but wouldn’t watch season two. It’s just insane. Episode one is crazy and genuinely don’t know if it’s a parody. But episode two is when that shit takes off. Episode three is all about missing husband. After that it gets sort of dark and less entertainment fun value and more kind of depressing.

 

So have we already hit market bottom or no? Cast your votes. Recession inbound or no?

 

No we have not hit bottom and recession had already begun and will last a while.

 

I think we hit bottom but we’ll still see some down swings. I don’t think we’ll see the market free fall we’ve seen through March though. As mentioned, we no longer are being caught off guard and the numbers being predicted now factor in all that shit storm, so we won’t have a dramatic market affect either way.
