DRL Question on 2020 Tacoma

Hello,

I am about to get a 2020 Sr double cab. I am planning to get LED Bulbs for the low beam and high beams. I was wondering if the DRL bulbs are separated from the Low beam bulbs. If that is the case, is there an option out there to switch the DRL bulbs to LED bulbs?

Not sure on the SR, but on the TRDs the DRL is LED, & is separate.

 

Curious why you're getting an SR and not an SR5 with the fog lights?

 

I think the 2020 SR still has the same lights as the 2016, in which case your DRL will be the turn signals on steady.

i like the SR5 but it is more expensive so I am sticking with the SR model.

Gotchya, I almost got an SR but the tailgate was wobbly, it was the only one SR on the lot so I ended up with an SR5 and talked em down 2 grand.

I am picking up the truck next week so I will see if there anything I can do to change the DRL but it does not seem like there are going to be a lot of options as the turn signals need to stay orange by law if I am not mistaken. I was hoping for a white LED solution for the DRL.

Unless you like chasing gremlins, do yourself a favor and stick with the original AMBER bulbs for the DRL, and stick with halogen bulbs for the headlights.

 

When I was shopping I stepped into an SR5 for about 700 bucks more than the SR. Tell em that's what you want and make em sharpen they're pencil. In this Covid19 Climate sales are down.

 

Yep. I have not signed the paperwork yet so I am still negotiating with the dealership.

 

Talk to another dealership about the deal this dealership is working for you.
The other dealership will either beat it or you get a good deal from original dealership
