This is amazing. I wish I had the resources and skill to do something like this. I know my son would love it too

While I'm waiting on parts and good painting temperatures I'm looking at my next build. This current build is to accurately duplicate my current truck which is pretty much just a working model. This next one will be to use crawling as intended. It will be a new wide body model with 35 or 37's in scale. Will also see about making it long travel. Will be another good winter project for next winter.

I was going to purchase this kit myself but the guy uses PLA plastic. I thought at least for the price he would use something harder. PLA deforms if left in the sun.

I didn't know that but haven't heard anyone having problems yet as they are pretty thick. Will keep that in mind. Thanks :hattip:

As long as you don't leave it in direct sunlight for an extended period of time, you shouldn't have any problems.

After you have most of the thing built, you could always make a mold of it to create solid bodies that you dont have to worry too much about breaking.
Check out this video for a demo of how its done.

First 70 degree day all year so got a few things done. Fully disassembled, all lights, windows mirrors etc removed bagged and labeled. Final 2 coats of primer. Will get all the wet sanding done this weekend. Then just need a few good days for final MGM paint, clear coat and then black trim. Then final assembly I hope. Not very good at painting so may take more than 1 try. :(

Use thin light coats. Steady movement across the entire area you're doing. You can always add more light coats, but taking them off is a totally different story. Good luck.

We'll see how it turns out after the clear coat. I'm trying my hardest not to over paint. That's always my biggest problem. :frusty:

Well I found the good clear coat so was able to pretty much finish. Base coat went on excellent. Clear coat has a couple of tiny runs I'll be able to get out once paint has cured. Glad it wasn't the base coat. I'll give it a good week and then paint all black trim and start final assembly. :D
