    Hit it harder with a bigger hammer. When your battery box and battery look like this you'll be golden. lol

    Seriously tho. I don't think i have seen anybody on 40s and IFS. I been tinkering the idea of 37s. But it would only be for the street. Mall crawler points

    Two buddies I wheel with, both 2ng gens, are working on it right now. One will be 40's and one will be on 39's. They are both LT'd. One went 14 bolt in the rear the other is going Dana 60. I'm just waiting on them to finish so I can wheel with them. Then tow them out.

    I wouldn't do more than 37s. Which a few have done. @Slodgetto build is probably the best example.

    Not sure you'd need bigger honestly. Even with 35s and skids with lockers you can go a LOT of places. Usually just the driver at that point that's the limit.

    I think 37’s are our limit. I’d only go 37’s and ifs if on LT for the stronger axles and extra clearance. But I would also want a stronger rear and crawl box.

    I know of plenty bent axle shafts that say otherwise.

    I think he's talking about himself, which now with his new axles I'd agree.

    @Wulf I do agree our steering pumps are limiting us even on 35's. Also I feel you would need to completely relocate the cab mounts on 40's, not to mention be wayyyy into the pedal.

    The factory axle is pretty damn stout for a mini truck axle.

    Did those setups have a lot of weight on them? I've never heard of a bent one and I've known of 4+ people
    running 35s and 37s on the Toyota 8" under trucks and 4runners.

    Well mine bent..8.4 diff

    @Squeaky Penguin bent his shaft in an elocker

    @jubei bent his shaft..also elocker.

    The factory axle is not that strong. It has no support at all from the bearing to the diff.

    Stuff. Also things.
    I was one of the bent axle club guys, but that was my own fault. My truck was (is?) a fatass and I wasn’t properly bumped.

    I’m pretty sure I bent mine sliding off an obstacle sideways and gronked the axle flange.
