Oil leak after 5K service? Please help me diagnose.

    Probably oil on the engine cover. Dripped when removing the filter I bet ...

    Toyota care is 2yrs or 25k (5 services) which ever comes first. Oil gets changed at 10k and 20k or month 10 and month 20.

    Service based on time gets 4 services; oil at 12 month and 24 months.

    Service based on mileage gets 5 services; oil at 10,000 and 20,000.

    Thanks to COVID, hitting high-mile club with just over 200 (mi) on my 2020. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a major recall (or it does for those close to be out of warranty). Not sure if Toyota considers rear main as part of powertrain but I'll keep an eye as the miles rack up.

    Underscores importance of earlier than recommended maintenance (or at least inspection). Even then, the apprentice changing the oil or doing inspection may not want the hassle of writing up a service ticket so they'll just turn a blind eye. Sucks for those who don't or can't change their own oil or crawl under once in a while to make sure everything looks right. Not saying every dealer or indy shop is the same but the truly honest ones are few and far between.
