Not a badass Tradesman but I did score a slightly used ARE aluminum canopy that has carpet ceiling for $200!

I talked to Maria a few weeks ago and she said they were having “issues” with the website. Obviously something’s wrong with their domain name but maybe it’s not a big part of their marketing and sales since it’s never been very useful. I’d just call.

You know what, I apologize. That was a dickish comment. There is no need for that.

I did search all over that site before I posted and found no links to any mention of a truck canopy. The only other site I was able to find was a bad domain. Hence the reason I asked.

Their website has always been impossible to find and not very useful anyway. Fortunately Maria is super responsive by email or phone. Email is: Maria@accessmfg.com Phone is:

Well I got through this whole thread bit by bit...always appreciative of the nearly bottomless rabbit holes of info provided by Tacoma World members. I’m going this route. Currently have a softopper on my Taco. I’ve researched, GFC, Vagabond, Drifter, 4WD, Habitat, ARE and Leer. For the money, the utility and the look I’m gonna go with a paint matched (Inferno) Tradesman 26” on my DCLB. Thanks for all the test flights and reports guys. I dig the dual flip up doors with the half tool box on the portside with a window in the fore portside door, the full door with 2 windows on starboard. Narrow flip up rear door with window and I hope black diamond plate on either side of the rear door. My plan is to have full insulation, carpet and low profile fan installed during build. I’d like to wire in switches for lighting throughout as well as relocate tailgate camera above rear door on the cap as I have a a hitch mounted swing out 1Up 2 rail bike rack for the fat tire ebikes for wifey an me. Still thinking on roof rack options but likely go with tracks. I’m not real big on putting stuff up on the roof but it is nice to have options. Oh and flip down sliding window behind cab. Again gotta love Tacoma World! I’ll post pics upon possession. Thanks guys.

I'm confused, is it a DCLB boat?

Sounds a lot like mine and @Toynado 's spec's. You're going to be stoked. You're right on about having them run the wiring for switches while they are building it. That should look really clean.

Sounds like you're going to have a fairly heavy cap, especially when you have your bikes loaded on there too. You might want to look into adding airbags or doing an AAL to support the additional weight.

    Can't wait to see it!

Not sure yet...just made the decision this morning...still gotta order. Been ready to pull the trigger on a used GFC for months, missed 2 of them at $6500 each so I’ve got a roomy budget, siphoned, scrimped and saved.

Well DCLB is kind of a boat...I do have bed stiffeners; stock OR trim level for suspension. The bikes are on a rack on the receiver but I dunno what the cap will weigh in at 250+? I’m gonna ad a sleeping platform and some kind of drawer system but I’m good at shaving weigh on stuff I build. My buddy has air bags on his DCSB sport Taco with a 4wd pop up at around 1100lbs but I dunno if I’ll need to upgrade suspension(?)...

When it’s all built out go to your local gravel & mulch place and weigh your truck on their scale. Most will let you do for free. Then contact Deaver and they will design a custom leaf pack for your weight.

You are going to love that setup you designed out!

Looking through some of these build outs, looks like your roof vent is more towards the front / closer to the cab than others. What distance did you go with from the front of the tradesman to where the vent begins? Do you have a roof rack on yours? If so, is there enough room for the cross bar to go in front (toward cab) of the vent?

Cheers & thank you for any feedback!
