    Moved Original GB#1 to here:

Thanks for checking out this group buy for my new product!

    What is it?

The SideRide allows you to mount your bicycle to the side of your Tacoma, even if you have a softopper!

    Why was it developed?

I developed the SideRide after numerous camping trips where I brought bikes along. The first trip I just threw the bike over the tailgate, but it sacrificed a lot of bed space. Also, now that I have a swingout on my rear bumper I can no longer put bikes over the tailgate. So I moved onto using a hitch rack. This made the trucks departure angle atrocious while at the same time adding several feet to an already long rear end. I then put my bikes up on the roof rack, but that's a pain being that it's fairly tall, and now that bikes have gotten longer they started to interfere with my rtt above my bed. So I had to develop a new place to put bikes. I wanted to keep these as close to the side as possible, so they don't protrude too far when a bike is not mounted, but not too close that a pedal would hit my softopper. After a lot of time measuring, developing, and testing, the SideRide was born!

    What will it fit?

The SideRide was developed for 2nd Gen (2005 to 2015) Tacomas with a short or long bed.

I am in the early stages of development for a version that works with the 3rd gens (2016 to present.

    What is included?

    Each SideRide comes with:
    • Driver's Side OR Passenger Side Front mount
    • Rear Mount
    • Bed Rail Clamp for the rear mount
    • 18" velcro strap for the rear tire
    • T Nuts for bed rail
    • 6 3/8-16 UNC Stainless Steel screws
    • 6 3/8 Stainless Steel washers

    SideRide Rear Mount Design Details:
    • 3/16" Steel for maximum stiffness while keeping a slim profile
    • Semigloss Black Powder Coat
    • 1" Thru hole for cable locks
    • Can fit up to a 2.6" rear tire (depending on tire)
    • 2 position (high and low) slots for the velcro strap for different tire heights
    • Cutout for mounting of supplied bed clamp for additional support, or softopper clamp
    • Bottle opener cutouts on each side for a post ride cold one

    What does it cost?

    • The cost in this group buy for 1 SideRide is $165 shipped to the lower 48

How this Group Buy will work:
    • This Group Buy has 20 total slots open: 10 for the driver's side version and 10 for passenger side version.

    • If you are interested, please comment below what version you want.

    • When the list hits 20 orders, I will send out PM's to everyone on the list for specific order and payment information.

    • Once everyone pays, I will start a production run. At this point, All sales are final.

    • From the final payment date, turnaround should take approximately 4-6 weeks from the closing date, give or take. I'm hoping to get this down, but with Covid-19 everything that is non-essential gets less priority.

    • Once these are shipped, I will contact you individually to give you a tracking number.

    • Any and all updates will be posted here on TacomaWorld.
    Final Notes:
    • All of the photos are of the prototypes, but basically what you will receive. I added additional small features after they were taken.
    • If there is an overwhelming majority of those who want a raw finished product, and not a powder coated one, I can do a run of raw. I just have my pricing as such the the cost of powder coat is built in, so there isn't much of a price difference.
    • I am NOT including the fork mounts. I can not guarantee that ones not linked to above will work, however I did try to make these as universal as possible.
    • I can NOT guarantee fitment in relation to your Hard Camper Shell, Bestop, or even tonneau cover. These were designed for an open bed, or a softopper.
    • Please let me know if you have any questions moving forward!

Just got it!! Last guy did a couple things.... some good, some bad.. Jump forward almost 2 weeks, I’ve put on a HS Off-road 2” lift kit with 5100s all around, new springs, and a AAL in the rear, with TRD 17x7” SEMA wheels wrapped in 255-80-17 Toyo Open Country ATs Installed InSight Retrofits HIDs, look friggin' sweeeet Husky Weatherbeater Action onboard
Were you getting much vertical movement without the clamps? Because without those clamps the brackets look like they would work well with my hard tonneau... very cool either way, and I like the bottle opener integration! Need to replace those carbs post ride...

every good ride needs to end with a cold one! It’s science!

and if the tonneau exerts force downward on the mount than it should be good. It’s the same in theory of my putting my softopper bracket there.

Love it guys! Well done. Might be nice to have just a bar around the same dimensions as Thule/Yakima so that we can mount different carriers on there. I'd love to be able to throw front loaders on there.

Quick question my friend. I don't have the plastic caps on my bed rails, are holes the one size or do they have room to move up and down?

good point, these are meant for the plastic rails, and I didn’t add another set of holes for anything else. I’m sure with a shim underneath it could work!

I'll just drill new holes my friend, and if it works. I'll make a template how I drilled them and where for future use for you.

thanks for the kind words! I don’t have my Nimble9 anymore (I’ve had 2) but it’s my favorite hard tail. The Gen 3 version needs a few measurements verified, and will only work if there is a front rail added to the bed.
