I have a '20 TRD off-road and I have a ipod touch connected thru the USB input in the dash. I've noticed that I cant browse songs or playlist on the touchscreen while the vehicle is in motion, only when stopped. Is there a way to change this? I'm guessing its a safety feature to reduce distracted driving. Would the Carista module/app allow me to change this?

Yeah I'm wondering the same thing actually. I'd love a way to figure out how to "unlock" that since I could do it on my other vehicles and since voice control and indexing of songs seem to really irritate entune; I'd just prefer to manually navigate

You have to either cut or ground a particular wire that goes to the radio. The issue annoys me but I'm not sure I want to do that just yet, I keep telling myself I'll get used to it. (I won't, I know it.)

How about fuck that. It’s s stupid nanny feature. If you don’t allow me to change the goddamn music via the radio that is big and easily navigable, I’ll do it on the phone itself.

maybe we should set the HVAC controls to only work when in park. Set it and too bad if it’s hot or cold. You’re too inept to do anything other than hold the steering wheel and operate the pedals.

No I get that but seriously the voice controls and indexing so far have been a total fail and if I could simply control it with the buttons on the wheel that would be fine too. It just seems silly that I can swap through pre-sets on the radio, fiddle with buttons on the radio and all over the place but can't simply swap an album out with a couple touches of the screen. That is my only real gripe. Hopefully I can figure out why my truck hates my iPod and it will be a nonissue but as someone who likes to randomly swap out to different songs/albums frequently its a big thing when my previous car had zero issues with any of that

My issue with this is that if it is a safety issue, then disable the whole touch screen while driving. Mazda does this, but they give you a very intuitive wheel and push to select method while in motion. Why disable certain features? Am I to believe that it is less distracting to adjust bass and treble while driving than it is to select a playlist? It is frustrating!!!
